Rainbow 6 Siege Operators have received many balance changes, and now the current rankings have come out. Some Attackers and Defenders have shifted positions in the meta while others have fallen off in use. Some of the best Operators are so powerful that they have the highest ban rate in ranked matches. Here is the tier list for R6S Operators for this season.

S-Tier Explanations
Ace
Ace’s SELMA gadget makes him an extremely safe pick to play for hard breaching as compared to others like Thermite; he can throw off Defenders easily with a remote detonation without committing to a deployment animation.
Dokkaebi
Dokkaebi has a ton of team utility with her ability to create audio clues for her team while also being able to hack defender-side cameras for her team to utilize.
Grim
Grim’s gadget is a great anti-roamer tool that can cover most of your team’s pushes without needing someone to stay behind and watch your rear.
Montagne
Montagne hasn’t changed much, yet still remains one of the most oppressive Attackers in the game with his ability to pressure Defenders hard with his massive shield while simultaneously giving his team solid information.
Nomad
Nomad, if played right, is a powerful Attacker who can easily flush out turtling Defenders with her Airjabs. She still remains very useful during the planting phase as her Airjabs can buy her team more objective control.
Ram
Ram enables solid vertical plays for her team with her indestructible breaching drone that is immune to every Defender trap in the game. With her drone, she can force Defenders to relocate to worse positions or hold extremely risky angles.
Solid Snake
Solid Snake is one of the best information-gathering Operators in the game with his Solition Radar, giving his team necessary callouts like the locations of active cameras, enemy Operators on his floor and where they’re looking.
Striker
While Striker has no unique gadgets of their own, they have access to more grenades, flashes and other secondary gadgets than most Operators, making them a great pick for both newcomers and veterans.
Defender Tier List
S-Tier Explanations
Azami
Azami is the most flexible Defender as she can generate barriers on the fly with her kunais. This also opens up new locations to anchor up that previously had no cover, allowing her to hold areas that Attackers won’t expect.
Clash
Clash is one of the most oppressive Defenders in the game, much like Montagne, but she has the added benefit of stalling certain players with her shield to isolate them and secure an extremely free and easy kill for her team.
Melusi
Melusi is annoying to fight, especially when an Attacker is caught in her Banshee gadget. What makes it especially difficult is that it’s bulletproof and sticks to any surfaces, making it extremely difficult to destroy. This makes it a potent area denial gadget that has plenty of uptime.
Mira
Mira’s presence alone on the Defender side can deter pushes in common rotation paths with her ability to gather info through walls. Against a less cautious team, she gains a huge advantage when making peek shots, while forcing other teams to take longer routes when attacking.
Kaid
Kaid has long powercrept Bandit with his ability to electrify multiple reinforced walls without needing as many generators, while also keeping his Electroclaws safe from Thatcher grenades. He can even hide them in certain spots to prevent Attackers from immediately destroying it.
Thorn
Thorn may be difficult to master, but her Razorbloom Shells are lethal enough to kill anyone that gets caught in its blast radius. When paired with some of the explosive gas pipes, Thorn can reliably secure kills for her team or completely stop a push by herself.

Tubarão covers both area denial and info-gathering with his Zoto Grenades, especially
Aruni
Aruni’s Suraya Gates can force teams to sacrifice a utility gadget just to pass through doors or windows, and can easily close off objective sites while also being indestructible. Teams that don't carry enough secondary gadgets may even be forced to use their Operator-exclusive gadgets just to temporarily disable a Gate.
Skopós
Skopós is a popular choice for roamers as she can cover a massive part of most maps with her ability to switch between two robotic bodies. With enough map knowledge, Skopos can easily dominate most matches with her near-teleport-like ability.
