Solid Snake Arrives in Rainbow Six Siege: Weapons and Gadget Guide

Rainbow Six Siege and Metal Gear get an unlikely crossover event, with the legendary Solid Snake making his way into the Operator roster. Unlike most crossovers, he is a fully playable Operator, complete with his own guns and a Soliton Radar gadget. He is an Attacker role and provides valuable intel for his team. This guide will help you jump into Solid Snake’s gameplay and gadgets so you can master him faster.

Snake himself has a Light health rating and a Fast speed rating, making him the perfect scout for any Attacker teams. He can be unlocked for 25,000 Renown or 600 R6 Credits.

Gadget: Soliton Radar

His Gadget is the Soliton Radar MKIII, a handheld device that acts as a radar. When activated, the Radar will display a minimap of Snake's immediate surroundings, as well as an indicator that an enemy or camera is in the vicinity. By activating Precision Mode, the Radar will show the locations of all nearby enemies and cameras, as well as which direction they are facing.

  • The Radar displays destructible objects and objective locations.
  • The Radar's Enemy Indicator has three coloured states. Green means there are no threats. Orange means a camera is currently being watched, and Red means there are enemies nearby.
  • Only enemies on the same floor as Snake can be detected by the Soliton Radar
  • The gadget has a limited battery life with 5 charges and recharges when not in use. Activating Precision Mode causes the battery to drain faster.
  • Snake cannot use his primary weapons while using the Soliton Radar

Operator Interactions

  • The Radar can only detect default map cameras, thus giving Operators with camera gadgets like Valkyrie, Maestro, and Echo an advantage.
  • Vigil’s cloaking makes him invisible to the Soliton Radar.
  • Operators near Mute’s jammers cannot be detected.
  • Alibi’s decoys can be detected and will appear as a valid Operator.

Ability: O.S.P (On-Site Procurement)

Solid Snake can pick up Frag Grenades, Smoke Grenades, Breach Charges, Flashbangs, and Impact EMPs from the bodies of dead enemies or teammates. However, this limits him to using only one Secondary Gadget at the start of each round.

Solid Snake’s Weapons

For his primaries, the F2 assault rifle or the PMR90A2 marksman rifle are equipable. As for his secondary, he can only use the .45 Tacit pistol. His secondary comes with an integrated suppressor, a reflex sight, and 9 shots in the magazine.
