Fortnite Building Materials That Are Essential

And finally, metal is the third building material. It’s the sturdiest of the bunch but is quite scarce since it can only be acquired through mine areas. Alternatively, you can also break down machinery for them. No one is above the other, especially in the later levels where elemental damage comes into play. There will be times when it’s better to opt for wood compared to metal material if you’re up against enemies that use nature damage. So just to be safe, get all three!
How to Switch Materials in Fortnite
Switching materials is different for some platforms. For PC users, just go into building mode and right-click to change the materials that you’re using. For console users such as the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch, the controls vary. For the PS4, press L1 while you’re in build mode. For Xbox One, press LB after going into build mode. And for the Nintendo Switch, you can toggle build mode by pressing the A button and then R to switch between the mats.
How to Get Coal in Fortnite
To get coal quickly, it’s best to use the Pathfinder Outlander sub-class beforehand since you’ll have to do some mining. Coal is mainly found in caves or fireplaces. Besides those common places, you can also search for trash bins or red utility carts since they can also be found inside those. Coal was really popular during the Winterfest, but this material has since been vaulted away. Only time will tell when it’ll be available for use once more.
