FFXIV Patch 7.35: Pilgrim's Traverse Deep Dungeon Guide

FFXIV has brought in Patch 7.35, adding new content with sidequests, Alliance quests, and a brand new Deep Dungeon. Just like the Palace of the Dead, Heaven-on-High, and Eureka Orthos, the Pilgrim’s Traverse comes with more mechanics and restrictions. Here's everything you need to know about the brand new Deep Dungeon, as well as the rewards you can get.

Pilgrim’s Traverse Quest Location

To start the quest, head to The Crystarium (X:10.3 Y:10.7) and speak to the Bright-eyed Child NPC. You must complete the Endwalker MSQ and reach floor 50 in Palace of the Dead to enter.

The dungeon entrance is located in Il Mheg (X:29.9 Y:6.0). Speak to Vanthau there to begin the Pilgrim’s Traverse dungeon.

📌Note: All party members must assemble in Il Mheg.

Pilgrim’s Traverse Mechanics

  • Upon starting the dungeon, your character’s level will be set to level 91, regardless of your current class level. Killing dungeon monsters earns you XP until you reach level 100. Progress inside the dungeon will not reflect on your class level outside.
  • Weapons and armor are restricted to the Illumed Aetherpool Arm and Illumed Aetherpool Armor. These can be upgraded by opening silver chests, and upgrades will permanently persist in future dungeon runs.
  • Every 10 Stones (floors) you reach will have a boss fight. Clearing the encounter allows you access to the checkpoint and leaves the dungeon safely to continue later.
  • When reaching Stone 30, you will need to complete the side quest Faerie Tale to progress towards Stone 31 and higher. Upon completing this sidequest, starting from Stone 21 sets your character level to 100.
  • Special items called Pomanders will drop from gold chests found in the dungeon, and Incense from silver chests. Pomanders can be used to grant a buff for you and your entire party, while Incense can be used to summon the Faerie King to either kill all enemies, reveal the floor map, or grant health regen to all players.
  • Hidden chests called the Accursed Hoard will appear on random floors during a dungeon run. These can be revealed by using a Pomander of Intuition. The Accursed Hoard loot can be taken to Tyr Marn (X:29.9 Y:5.9) in Il Mheg to be appraised.

All Deep Dungeon Rewards

  • If your character is at level 90, you will receive the following based on your dungeon progress:
    • Allagan Tomestones of Poetry
    • Gil
    • Experience
  • If your character level is at level 100, you will earn the following:
    • Allagan Tomestones of Heliometry
    • Allagan Tomestones of Mathematics
    • Gil
  • Clearing Stone 30, 50, and 70 grants you Illumed Aetherpool Glass, a currency that can be traded with Ose Wyld (X:29.9 Y:5.9) in Il Mheg for unique rewards.
  • Upon reaching +10 with your Aetherpool Arm, you can reset it to gain an Aetherpool Grip. You can receive a Weapon of the First Light of your choice by exchanging 3 Aetherpool Grips. You can also receive an upgraded Sacramental weapon by exchanging 6 grips and a Weapon of the First Light.
