World of Warcraft Classic has slow-level progression, and players need help to travel between places on foot. Gamers wonder if there are mounts available in Season of Discovery that can help them travel from one location to another. While rides are available in the game, devs introduced some limitations to these mounts, restricting their usage to specific areas.
Are There a Season of Discovery Mounts?
Their short answer is yes. However, they exist in limited quantity. Only two default rides are available for both factions, each exclusive to one side. These two look practically identical to each other. Here are the mounts that each section can get:
- Trainee's Sentinel Nightsaber (Alliance)
- Trainee's Outrider Wolf (Horde)
According to leaks, these mounts can only be used in Ashenvale, a PvP zone. This means players will still have to go barefoot to get to their destinations when doing regular quests. There are rumors that another potential mount will come to the game. However, players can only unlock it as a reward for PvP events and challenges.
How to Unlock Season of Discovery Mounts
In WoW Classic, you can get your mount at level 40, which can take considerable time. For Season of Discovery, these rides will be available by level 25, the cap for the first stage. These mounts will help champions navigate Ashenvale as it becomes a highly contested battlefield. This is the level cap for Phase 2 of SoD, so gamers have time to explore other content before they reach this point.
During the early stages of the game, players will focus mainly on PvE content in the early stage of Phase 1. After reaching the 1st level cap, champions will be heavily involved in PvP. It is the main reason the mounts are only available for use in the Ashenvale region so that gamers can travel faster in this zone. There still need to be details about the earnable Ashenvale-exclusive PvP mounts for the Warsong Outriders and Silverwing Sentinels, so we will have to wait for further announcements for those two.
Other Modes of Transportation
Unfortunately, players won't be able to use their mounts outside the Ashenvale zone. However, there are other potential modes of travel, so champions can avoid getting into trouble on foot. Season of Discovery will feature Runes, allowing gamers to access other classes' skills. Players can gain access to abilities like the Shaman's Wolf form or Druid's Cat form, enabling them to transform into creatures with faster movement speed.
Unfortunately, other modes of travel that players are used to will be removed from the game. In particular, Mages Portals will no longer feature in Season of Discovery. However, some classes, like Warlocks, can summon other players to their current location, which can be helpful when gathering for raids.
World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phases
As mentioned earlier, SoD will feature multiple phases, and each of them has its designated level cap until gamers can ascend to the next stage. Reaching each chapter will unlock new content and rewards for players, so it is in their best interest to farm the WoW experience as much as possible. Here are all the phases for SoD:
- Phase 1 – Level 25 Cap
- Phase 2 – Level 40 Cap
- Phase 3 – Level 50 Cap
- Phase 4 – Level 60 Cap
Only details about Phase 1 have been revealed to players. At this stage, gamers mostly do raids in the Blackfathom Deeps or PvP content in Ashenvale. It is still being determined when we will get further information about the other stages, but leaks have been available for quite some time. Most of these datamined details have been accurate so far, but mounts will undoubtedly be available before Phase 2.
What to Do While Grinding for Level
While it is in players' best interest to level up as fast as possible, gamers have tons of content to explore besides the mounts. SoD features the new Rune Engraving system, which will have a significant impact on everyone's gameplay. Characters can now sport unique builds not available during previous versions of WoW. Gamers can go to the frontlines as a Tank Warlock or surprise enemies as a Warrior with Mage spells. Make sure to explore all these new features while you grind the experience for your mount.
