LoL New Items Worth Talking About

League of Legends’ new items are more than just power-ups that can be used in every match. While at their core they’re exactly just that, Riot Games was able to expand the use of items even further. By being able to use these items outside of the match, players can have the chance to earn rewards and acquire even the rarest of skins for free. Some players also look into ways in which they can buy LoL items. It’s worth noting that not all of the items that have been added are tradeable, though, as some can only be obtained by simply playing a game or two of League of Legends.

1. Chests and Keys

   The addition of chests and keys to League of Legends was groundbreaking- at least for the older players who had played the game since the first season, anyway. Since adding an inventory tab in the League of Legends client, players can accumulate chests and keys by playing matches and getting a high Mastery score with a champion. Fortunately, chests and keys can be traded or gifted in the game, making it accessible to anyone looking to help a friend. One thing to note about chests is that everything that a player gets is purely RNG. There are times when they’ll strike out and get a skin shard that houses a Legendary or Ultimate skin, but for the most part, players usually tend to get a bit of Blue/Orange Essence and a bunch of key fragments. There’s only one type of key, but there are two variants of chests on which the keys can be used. These are the Hextech and Masterworks chests. The Hextech chests are by far the most common since players can easily get them by playing matches, while Masterwork chests have to be bought from the in-game store and tend to have better chances of getting higher-tier skin shards and even Gemstones.

2. Little Legend Eggs

   Little Legends are the tiny critters players can use as their avatar during Teamfight Tactics matches. Teamfight Tactics is another game housed inside the League of Legends client. It’s possible not to play a League of Legends game and simply enjoy Teamfight Tactics. Players will have to hatch Little Legends eggs to get more avatars in TFT. The usual eggs are offered free like a log-in bonus, while others are only available for a limited time. Little Legends' eggs are tradeable and can be gifted to other players. The eggs often come in as “Series,” where each type can give players one of the six available variations. Three rarity types are available for Little Legends: Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Rare eggs are one of the easiest to get in Teamfight Tactics since they have a 75% drop rate. Meanwhile, Epic eggs are a tad uncommon since they only have a 20% drop rating. Finally, Legendary eggs are considered to be the cream of the crop and, as such, have a very low drop rating amounting to 5%.

3. Champion Capsules

   Unlike the other items on this list, Champion capsules can’t be traded or gifted to other players. Instead, they’ll have to earn them the hard way by playing League of Legends. Once players level up, they’ll automatically get the capsules. Champion capsules are the easiest to get out of the bunch since players can get them with every level increase. The second type of capsules, Glorious champion capsules, are a bit harder to get since gamers get to acquire only every 10th level. There are also Honor and Event capsules, such as Orbs, but they all have the same thing in common: they can’t be traded. There’s no news yet as to whether Riot Games is planning to make the capsules giftable, but in the meantime, players can only get them by playing tons of matches. At the very least, they don’t have to worry about meeting specific requirements, such as the game only counting winning matches to be able to get the capsules.

League of Legends has been in the MOBA scene for eight years. The game has managed to not only make a name for itself but also to make a significant leap in its genre. Since new Seasons are underway, it's bigger, tougher, and more exciting with LoL icons. The icing on the cake is the LoL Riot Points. Players are going to enjoy this season. Developed by Riot Games, League of Legends is an MOBA similar to DoTA 2 but with some differences. Instead of heroes, there are champions, each with a backstory and relation to the world of Runeterra. Despite having similar basic controls and player roles, everything else is different.

The variations of League of Legends are from what is arguably the pioneer of the modern MOBA genre; specifically, when it comes to mechanics, accessibility, and art direction, which is noticeable in champions with skins. Something else that defines League of Legends is the constant reinventions in each season, particularly the most current season, which always features amplified in-game changes.

League of Legends Items: Things To Look For

First, there is tweaking the champion class (the assassins). Rather than relying on small bursts, tweaking certain items and abilities has turned the swift and deadly class into a force to be reckoned with. They are agile champions who are masters of setting up, stalking, and ambushing targets. However, just because assassins are ruthless doesn't mean they have a great advantage over other champs; it simply brings them back to how they’re meant to play.

Another big change for the current Season is the jungle. The green vegetation zones of Summoner’s Rift have new things. The blast cone, for example, catapults a champion to the dragon’s pit just by hitting it, saving players the time and effort they would’ve spent walking on the river, not to mention the danger. The jungle is now more alive than in previous seasons. There are new plant materials that will aid players if used wisely. The “fruits” in the jungle produce beneficial effects when destroyed, and a few changes occur with the jungle monsters. Gamers who haven’t played in previous seasons of LoL are in for a surprise. Having skins is favorable for rookies since they will hit the ground running.

The ranked matches have been adjusted. Solo and duo queues are back, and there’s the new Flex Queue system, which is somewhat similar to last year’s Dynamic Queue. The Flex Queue system is perfect for both teams of five and solo players whose gaming style is team-oriented.

Summoners can look forward to new League of Legends items, such as skins and LoL wards, which are bought with Riot Points. Although they don’t necessarily change the metagame, items add flavor to the player experience. Since many champions are getting visual upgrades, champion skins are more impressive. Now is the best time for new players to get into League of Legends, and for returning players to get back in the game.
