The seasonal character reset has arrived in Diablo 4 Season of Slaughter, and players are back to level 1. With the leaderboards refreshing, finding a fast path to the endgame is critical. To jump-start your journey through the Season 12 content and start collecting those powerful Bloodied Items, here are the most efficient ways to smooth out your leveling experience.
Tips for Leveling 1-60 Fast in Diablo 4
Start at Normal Difficulty
While the Hard difficulty offers a 75% experience bonus, Normal remains the gold standard for pure speed at level 1. In Season 12, maintaining a high Killstreak is the most important factor for bonus XP. If you are killing monsters instantly in Normal, your Killstreak multiplier will climb much higher than it would on harder difficulties, where monsters have more health. Once your build comes online with a few Legendary Aspects, you can consider bumping up to Hard or Expert, but always prioritize "one-shotting" packs to keep that streak alive.
Participate in the Season of Slaughter Content
Season 12 introduces The Slaughterhouse and the Butcher Transformation. As you level, you will find Meaty Offerings in Helltides; use these at a Shrine of Slaughter to transform into the Butcher. This gives you a massive power spike, allowing you to clear entire screens of enemies and earn the new seasonal currency, Fresh Meat. Additionally, keep an eye out for Bloodied Sigils, which create high-density zones perfect for farming the XP bonuses tied to the 1,000+ Killstreak tiers.
Use Elixirs and Seasonal Blessings
In Season 12, the experience grind to the Level 60 cap is significantly front-loaded. Use the Urn of Butchery Seasonal Blessing early to increase your Reputation gains, which unlocks caches full of gear and Bloodied Keys. While the 5% Elixir bonus is standard, look for the new Blood-Infused Elixirs dropped during Slaughterhouse events for even higher combat efficiency. Don't forget to spend your Smoldering Ashes on the Urn of Slaughter to increase the drop rate of keys for the endgame arenas.
Push for Torment Difficulty at Level 60
The leveling process now focuses on reaching level 60 to unlock The Pit. Once you reach the level cap, you must complete Pit Tier 20 to unlock Torment I. This difficulty is where the real endgame begins, as it’s the only place where Ancestral Legendary items and Mythic Uniques (like the new Butcher-themed gear) start to drop. If your build can handle the -250 Armor penalty of Torment I, the 100% Experience bonus will help you start your Paragon journey toward the cap of 300.
