Diablo 4 S14: How to get Escalation Sigils (Farming and Use Guide)

Diablo 4's Season 14 has been a challenge for most players. Gathering crafting materials for progression has been difficult due to the reliance on RNG. Pandemonium Fragments are in short supply because Superior Lair Keys are not guaranteed to drop. Luckily, many players have found that Escalating Nightmare Dungeons are an amazing source for loot and Gem Fragments.

How to get Escalation Sigils in Diablo 4 S14

Horadric Cube Crafting

To obtain an Escalating Nightmare Sigil, you will need to transmute it using Nightmare Dungeon Sigils in the Horadric Cube. By combining 5 Nightmare Sigils inside the Horadric Cube, you can get 1 Escalation Sigil. This method is a great way to earn Escalation Sigils and maximize the loot you can get from this type of content.

  • Input: 5x Nightmare Sigils
  • Output: 1x Escalation Sigil

Horadric Strongroom

One of the most consistent ways to farm Escalation Sigils, as well as normal Nightmare Sigils, is by running Nightmare Dungeons with Horadric Strongroom. These dungeons contain Horadric Caches and Grand Horadric Caches, which have a higher chance of dropping Escalation Sigils. As a bonus, running Nightmare Dungeons with the proper War Plan setup fits perfectly within the Escalation Nightmare Dungeon loop.

Best War Plan for Escalation Sigils and Nightmare Dungeons

For Diablo 4 players, efficiency is the name of the game. Having the proper War Plan in place can significantly affect how quickly you reach your peak power. The best way to set up the Nightmare Dungeon War Plan is to go directly down the middle.

This means taking the following nodes: Dread Revival, Recurring Nightmare, Branching Pathways. By taking these 3, you increase your chances of obtaining an Escalation Sigil thanks to Recurring Nightmare and Dread Revival. By taking Branching Pathways, you get more choices for the next time you do Escalation Dungeon, allowing you to get better affixes.

Once you have allocated your first 3 points, the remaining 4 points can be used to farm either Elite enemies or Goblins. To farm Elites, take the following nodes: Waking Spoils, Gauntlet, Nemesis, Fearless Conviction, along with Corrupted Roots from the Tree of Whispers. This is best suited for mid- to late-game players who are maximizing loot drops, since some Elites can be challenging to take down.

Farming Goblins is much easier and much more straightforward. Take all the nodes on the right with Altar of Avarice instead of Cipher Maps. This method is ideal for players early in the season who are looking for loot in general.

Astaroth Loop

Occasionally, your War Plans will contain an Escalation Nightmare Dungeon. At the end of these dungeons, you will battle Astaroth. While he is not necessarily all that difficult, he is the key to looping Escalating Dungeons. Once you defeat him, he will spawn an Altar, where you will be given several choices. On this Altar, always choose Riches of Keys to receive 2 Escalation Sigils. In doing so, you can effectively loop these dungeons indefinitely.

Other Methods for Farming Escalation Sigils

Players who don't enjoy the monotony of running Nightmare Dungeons can also farm bounties to obtain Nightmare Sigils, which can then be transmuted into Escalation Sigils.
