Tortuga is the main faction location to go to if you want to increase your reputation and get some supplies in Windrose. The location of Toruga can vary wildly depending on your server, but this guide will show you how to find Tortuga, the faction vendors, and what you can do in that hub.
Locating Tortuga
While you can continuously explore the sea until you find Tortuga, there's another method that pinpoints the island on your map. First, locate the Rogue Buccaneers faction, which can be found in seas and islands with Encounter level 1-5. Once you explore enough of the Rogue Buccaneers’ territory and find their main camp, you will receive the Buccaneers questline.
Buccaneers Quest Guide
The first step of this quest is to find 50 gunpowder and turn them over to Henri Boucher. Gunpowder drops from enemy pirates, but you can also craft it using Sulfur and Ash. Boucher is located in the Rogue Buccaneers’ main camp, so you can't miss him.
The next quest step requires you to deliver tanned hides to Charlie Sharp. This gives you a waypoint that leads directly to the island southwest of Tortuga, straight to the quest NPC. Once you reach your destination, place a Fast Travel Bell for quick and easy access.
Tortuga Vendors and Services
The main island of Tortuga is surrounded by a barrier of undead energy, which will instantly destroy your ship and kill you if you try to enter. Instead, you can dock your ship at the pier, which is where all the faction rep NPCs are located.
Here, you can turn in faction items to the People of Tortuga, Brethren of the Coast, Rogue Buccaneers, and Smugglers of Port Royal to gain reputation with them and unlock new recipes from them.
The island you visit during the Buccaneers quest is where all the actual vendors are located, especially the faction Provisioners that sell rare blueprints.
