Heavily-reliant on cooperative action, Warframe is one tough game that demands that each player brings their A-game. To do so, you’ll need to upgrade your Archwings, companions, K-Drives, Warframes, and weapons to the max! What Are Warframe Mods?

Simply put, mods are the upgrade systems used to modify Archwings, companions, K-Drives, Warframes, and weapons. While these modules can’t grant powers (both Active and Passive), Sentinel Precepts, as well as Utilities, they can be changed between items.

The typical drop rate of mods is currently set at 3%. This may differ, though, depending on which type of enemy you are facing. With a few exceptions, all mods can be traded. All in all, there are over 1000+ modules available in the game.

They can be categorized as such:

• Common Mods– Typically characterized by bronze plating. Notable examples include Hunter Adrenaline, Augur Message, Vigilante Armaments, Body Count, Thumper, Thief’s Wit, Shattering Impact, and Gladiator’s Rush.

• Uncommon/Peculiar Mods – Characterized by the silver plating around them, Uncommon Warframe mods include Augur Reach, Blood Rush, Corrosive Projection, Energy Siphon, Equilibrium, Hunter Munitions, and Weeping Wounds among others.

• Rare/Amalgam Mods – You can tell Rare mods by the gold plating that surrounds them. The most notable Rare mods are Adaptation, Augur Secrets, Berserker, Bullet Dance, Condition Overload, Growling Power, and High Noon.

• Legendary Mods – Appearing as an ornate orb, the Legendary Core is used to max out mods without the use of credits or endo. Needless to say, being of a legendary tier makes them valuable.

• Requiem Mods – A subset of Parazon Mods, also classed as one of the special mods, Requiems are the only way you can permanently sever a Kuva Lich’s Continuity. Though tradeable between players, they come with a hefty tax of about 2,500.

Warframe Mods

Warframe mods give a variety of effects to a weapon, or the stats or skill of a warframe or companion. For example, the Pressure Point mod gives a 20% damage boost to melee weapons per rank (up to 120% at max rank). Another example is Fast Hands, which makes reloading rifles (including bows) 5% faster per rank (up to 30% at max rank).

Primed mods are a boosted version of this. They are of legendary rarity and incredibly hard to find (the mods mentioned above are both common rarity). The Primed Pressure Point mod gives a 15% boost to base damage per rank, for a possible 165% increase at max rank. As for Primed Fast Hands, it makes reloading rifles and bows 5% faster per rank. At max rank, it makes reloading 55% faster. Maxed mods are just mods with max rank.

So if you have the chance, get the Primed mods such as Primed Regen, Primed Cryo Rounds, Primed Reach or Primed Flow. These will give the best boosts, even at low ranks.

The Exilus Adapter opens the dedicated Exilus mod slot every warframe has for use. Exilus mods usually boost the utility or mobility of the warframe. Exilus mods can be placed in a regular mod slot, but freeing up the dedicated slot can make space for other mods.

Other special mods include Aura, Augment, Stance, Damaged, Corrupted, Nightmare Mode, Riven, Conclave, and Exilus. Each mod has a particular effect. For example, Aura mods are party-wide buffs. Stance mods create combos for melee weapons. Conclave mods only activate during PVP. Riven mods boost or hinder up to four attributes. Mix and match these effects according to your playstyle, and create the best warframe for you.
