Night Dire Marsh contains some of the most rewarding hidden content in the game, offering players access to secret loot rooms, exclusive caches, and valuable high-tier rewards. However, reaching these hidden areas requires isn't exactly a walk in the park. Players will need to get their hands on the Observation Labs Key, navigate the Upper Complex, solve puzzles, and uncover secrets scattered throughout the map.
Whether you're hunting for Yellow-tier loot, looking to maximize your extraction value, or simply want to discover everything Night Dire Marsh has to offer, this guide will walk you through every step needed to unlock the map's secret loot rooms and hidden caches.
Secret Loot Rooms in Night Dire Marsh
How to get Observation Labs Key
Getting the Observation Labs Key is the first step in accessing the hidden loot rooms in Night Dire Marsh. The key can be obtained by completing events on the map, such as HVT Elimination and Convoys.
The most consistent way to acquire the key is to eliminate roaming UESC enemies for UESC Certs. These can be used in many locations throughout the map. For this method, we’ll use radio towers atop each POI. Make sure to gather at least 3 UESC Certs before heading to the radio towers. Once activated, the tower will point your team to a nearby loot room, which may potentially have the Observation Labs Key.
Entering Upper Complex
Players have 2 choices for entering Upper Complex: a loud option and a quiet option. Before proceeding further, try to collect at least 7 UESC Certs for the loud entrance into Upper Complex or 12 UESC Certs for the quiet entrance.
The loud option is the more straightforward option of the two. Players just need to enter Complex from either side of the POI and make their way to the elevator. This will promptly take them to the upper section of the Complex. However, enemies and other players will know you have entered the upper areas.
Players who want a “safer” option can enter the Upper Complex silently. In each corner of the POI is a set of staircases. There are 4 staircases, each staircase leads to a door and a terminal. Activate the terminal, which costs 3 UESC Certs, and players must do this for all four corners.
Room Puzzle Guide
Regardless of which way you entered, the next step requires the player to find a terminal with ‘Activate Door Controls’. These terminals are found in their own room, often overlooking the area (look for a well-lit room). Once the terminals are activated, players need to search the room for blue buttons with green targets. Players need to hit the exposed green target to progress. Players need to do this for 3 rooms: the first room has 3 targets, the second has 4, and the last has 5. Once this step has been completed, players can then use the Observation Labs Key they acquired to enter the boss room area.
Secret Loot Room 1
After doing the room puzzles, and you are in the boss room, during the boss encounter, players will have to shoot the same blue buttons with green targets. However, to access the secret bonus loot room, you must have a Darksight Optic.
The buttons around the room will each have a corresponding number. There are 9 buttons in the room, hence the numbers range from 1 to 9. There will be 3 phases of this stage. Phase 1 will have 3 numbers, phase 2 will have 5 numbers, and phase 3 will have 7.
Using the Darksight Optic, shoot the buttons in an ascending order. For example, in phase 1, if the buttons for 945 open, you must shoot them in ascending order so it becomes 459. Do this for all 3 phases. If a mistake is made at any point, the secret loot room will no longer be accessible.
Once you defeat the boss, you gain access to a secret loot room with decent loot and a great chance at Yellow loot.
Secret Loot Room 2
The second secret loot room is much more difficult to access than the first. To access it, players need to find 14 Red Buttons located all over the Complex. These buttons are located on either side of the Complex and are extremely well hidden. They look similar to the Blue Buttons you had to shoot to access the boss room, but in red. These can be hidden inside vents or extremely hard-to-reach places, and sometimes even on the exterior of the building.
Once all red buttons have been shot, another secret loot room opens for the players. The room features the same quality of loot as the other 2 rooms. However, this room also has lootboxes that require 5 UESC Certs to open. There are 5 of these boxes scattered throughout the room, each containing decent loot
How to Find Hidden Caches in Night Dire Marsh
Night Dire Marsh has a few hidden caches. The caches will remain hidden unless a player uses a Darksight Optic to track and follow the arrows to the cache's location. Once close to the cache, the cache spawns and can be looted. To find these caches, ADS(Aim Down Sight) using the Darksight Optic in one of the POIs, and if you are lucky, you will see arrows pointing you to the location of the hidden cache.
