Night Marsh opens up the map with UESC towers and new map events that can lead to a key drop. One of the most extensive changes in Night Marsh is the Complex area, which now has a full interior leading to a boss, along with a loot room with all the purple and gold loot in the map. This guide will show you how you can enter the Upper Complex area, slay the boss, and get the best rewards in Night Marsh.
Obtaining UESC Certs
Certs are a key item that drops from standard UESC enemies. These Certs are used to open lockboxes in Night Marsh and are a great source of early loot. However, you can also use these to open the way to Upper Complex. You will need at least 7 Certs to unlock the doors.
Observation Labs Key
This key is important for activating the boss and opening the loot room of the Complex. You can get this key by interacting with the UESC Network towers, which costs 3 Certs to activate. It will show you the location of a cache you need to visit. The key will likely spawn in those caches.
Entering Upper Complex
With 7 Certs and an Observation Labs key in hand, head to Complex and interact with the panel next to the massive blast doors. This will spawn a wave of UESC enemies. Once all enemies are dead, take the elevator up towards Upper Complex.
Keep going until you find a locked blast door. There will be a lit room with a blue terminal and red square lights on the wall. Activating this terminal will turn the buttons on the area walls green, which you can shoot. This room requires you to shoot 3 green buttons. This mechanic will occur 2 more times as you progress, with the second requiring 4 buttons to shoot and the last requiring 5 buttons. (There are also hidden red buttons to shoot that will open an extra loot room at the end of Upper Complex).
Upper Comblex Boss Encounter
Once you reach the boss area, you'll find a room with its window shutters down. This room is where you’ll use your Observation Labs key to trigger the boss fight. Before you can progress the encounter, you will need to shoot the same green buttons around the arena to continue the fight. Once you defeat the gold-shielded Warden at the final wave, this will unlock the loot room in the middle for your reward.
