Most guns in Wardogs cost thousands of dollars to equip on the battlefield, with some upgrades available as you level your class and its respective weapons. To help you find the best and most cost-effective weapons in Wardogs, this tier list breaks down the guns available to each class and ranks them based on their performance and price.
Assault Weapon Tier List
S-Tier Explanations
AK-74
The AK-74 is effective at close to medium range with the right attachments while also being extremely cheap at $1,600 in the shop, making it an excellent early Assault weapon.
FAL
The FAL is a great multipurpose AR that excels at all ranges thanks to its high damage profile. Its access to scope attachments also lets it function as a pseudo-DMR.
A-Tier Explanations
Galil
The Galil is the next weapon available to unlock in the Assault class after the AK and has much lower recoil, making it easier to control at range. However, it is also more expensive at $2,200.
B-Tier Explanations
M4A1
The M4A1 functions more like an SMG, as it is powerful at short range but falls off at medium range. It has the fastest fire rate among the ARs, but its high recoil makes it difficult to use beyond close-range fights.
C-Tier Explanations
T-21
The T-21 is extremely cheap at only $600. However, its performance doesn't feel like enough of an upgrade over the free ARs to justify buying it, especially when the AK-74 can be unlocked early on.
D-Tier Explanations
A-91 / KH-2002 / Bushmaster M17S
These ARs are the baseline weapons for new players and perform poorly, with low magazine capacity and no full-auto fire. They are best used when saving money for a more expensive weapon.
Medic Weapon Tier List
S-Tier Explanations
Super-45
The Super-45 has near-zero recoil and access to a drum magazine, making it a highly accurate weapon with a large ammo capacity. Its $2,600 price is reasonable for its overall performance.
A-Tier Explanations
PP-19 Vityaz
As the first weapon upgrade in the Medic class, the PP-19 Vityaz offers solid performance with controllable vertical and horizontal recoil, making it an easy weapon to handle.
B-Tier Explanations
AMP-9
The starter weapon for the Medic class is a decent SMG that can output solid damage at close range, but its horizontal recoil pattern can be difficult to control. At $900, it is still serviceable for early Medic gameplay.
C-Tier Explanations
MP5
Though considered an upgrade to the AMP-9, the MP5's performance difference is barely noticeable while costing more at $1,500. That makes it a difficult purchase to justify over the cheaper alternative.
Support Weapon Tier List
S-Tier Explanations
PKM
The PKM has high damage per bullet and can have negligible recoil when equipped with a bipod. This turns it into a strong long-range weapon that can kill even armored infantry.
A-Tier Explanations
M249 SAW
The M249 SAW deals significantly less damage than the PKM, but it can still perform well at range when equipped with a bipod and scope, allowing it to handle targets across different distances.
Recon Weapon Tier List
S-Tier Explanations
SVD
The SVD deals consistent damage that can two-shot enemies in the body at any range while retaining the ability to one-shot targets with a headshot against enemies wearing helmets. As a DMR, it is also easy to pick up and use effectively.
AMR-50
The AMR-50 is one of the most powerful sniper rifles in Wardogs, reliably one-shotting players in the torso without Level 4 armor. At $8,800, it is expensive, but its ability to secure center-mass one-shot kills makes it highly effective for snipers.
A-Tier Explanations
SKS
The first unlockable Recon weapon performs well as a DMR. Its low price also makes it a solid first choice for Recon players looking to level their class.
BMR-308
The BMR-308 trades scope options for a larger magazine, making it better suited to aggressive Recon players. Dedicated long-range snipers can outclass it, but it performs well as a medium-range support weapon.
Mosin Nagant / SV98
Both weapons serve as baseline sniper rifles capable of one-shotting targets in the head and two-shotting them in the torso. The SV98 is slightly more expensive because it uses a magazine-style reload, while the Mosin Nagant uses a manual reload mechanic.
D-Tier Explanations
Scout Rifle TD
Despite being the cheapest sniper rifle, the Scout Rifle TD has such low damage that it cannot one-shot enemies with a headshot. Combined with its one-round breech reload, it should be replaced as soon as another sniper rifle or DMR is unlocked.
