WARDOGS: How to Use the L81 Mortar (Aiming, Spam, and Supply)

Mortars in WARDOGS are extremely effective weapons. Capable of long-range indirect fire, they can decimate even the best FOBs in no time. Many new players are confused about how to use this amazing weapon, so here is a complete guide to mortars in WARDOGS.

Complete Guide for L81 Mortars in WARDOGS

How to Build Mortars in WARDOGS

To build mortars, your team must first place a Forward Operating Base (FOB). Afterward, you will need a Large Hammer to place the mortar. Once it's placed, any teammate can contribute to the build with any-level hammer.

How to Aim Mortars in WARDOGS

At first glance, aiming Mortars can be confusing, but once you understand it, doing it becomes extremely easy. When you right-click while inside the mortar or use the aim function, you'll see an aiming screen. Now comes the somewhat confusing part.

To hit targets with the mortar, you need to know the distance and direction. You can easily determine this when your team uses any recon tool. Once a target has been scanned using the recon tool, hover over it on your map to get the range. Use your map to mark the location using the middle mouse button. Afterward, you should see a ping marker; adjust the mortar's direction using the A and D keys or the mouse. Then adjust the distance using the W and S keys or the Mouse.

After you shoot, you can open your map, and a ringed circle will show the approximate location where your mortar landed. You can adjust your direction and distance using the circle to get more accurate shots.

WARDOGS Mortar Spam

Once you have fired a few ranging shots, follow-up barrages in quick succession are key to success with mortars. When shooting mortars, an animation plays to show where your shot went and its effect on the target area. You can cancel this animation by pressing C; this lets you shoot another mortar right away.

Always keep the tube loaded with 3 mortars for follow-up shots. On the final shot, you can let the animation play out and spam the R Key to reload the tube up to 3 shots.

How to get Mortar ammo in WARDOGS

Firing mortars requires the FOB to be stocked with Ammo Supplies. You can purchase these from HQ and have them delivered through item crates or an Ammo Supply Pallet.
