The Valheim 1.0 update has brought new endgame crafting mechanics. It has introduced new items called Idols, which are used to enhance your builds when you reach the endgame stages of Valheim. The upgrade system is easy to understand, but finding all 16 Idols will be a challenge. To help you out, here's a guide on where to get all Idols in Valheim 1.0.
What are Idols in Valheim?
The Idols in Valheim 1.0 are split into two categories that play a unique role:
- Battle Idols: You'll use these to enhance your weapons, tools, and offensive gear.
- Protection Idols: These are required for upgrading your armor, capes, and shields.
Once you find the idols, you'll take them to the Forge of Potential to push your gear past the standard limits. However, upgrading your gear with Idols heavily relies on RNG, and a failed enhancement can completely destroy your equipment.

Can You Spawn Idols With Console Commands in Valheim?
You can spawn Idols using console commands. If you want to skip looking for the Idols in each biome and want them fast, here's what you need to do.
- Press F5 to open the in-game console
- Type devcommands and hit Enter to enable cheats
- Then use the general spawn syntax: spawn [ItemName] [Amount].
