PoE Undetaker: How to Summon Arimor

The new PoE league mechanic offers players an additional crafting option to create powerful weapons. The Necropolis expansion provides a new (albeit gruesome) way to find modifiers you can imbue to any item, but you will have to slay powerful ghosts and monsters to get the best ones available. But before you start farming corpses, you must meet Undertaker Arimor to jump-start the mechanic. Unfortunately, the game doesn't tell players how to summon this NPC. 

Why Do You Need to Meet Undertaker Arimor

Meeting Undertaker Arimor as soon as possible is crucial because he is the key to unlocking the Necropolis League. This NPC will offer you the Lantern of Arimor, an essential relic to his family. This item allows players to see random monster modifiers in their current zone.

With the Lantern of Arimor, you will know how to navigate the League mechanic. This relic also provides players with increased drop rates via the modifiers it gives monsters. In other words, the Lantern is the key to unlocking and learning PoE Necropolis League. 

How to Summon Undertaker Arimor

While the game tells you to summon Undertaker Arimor, it doesn't explain you can do this. If you have the loot filter off now, you will miss the pop-up that says to call this NPC. To summon Arimor, you must activate the loot feature by permanently turning it on by pressing Z or temporarily showing it by pressing Alt. 

Once the loot filter feature is activated, a pop-up will let you summon Undertaker Arimor. It’s unusual that a core mechanic of the new League is tied to a system that not everyone might be using. Hopefully, devs can alter this aspect of Necropolis to make summoning Arimor more visible.

How to Complete The Undertaker's Apprentice Quest

Once you've summoned Undertaker Arimor, he will give you a background on what is happening and a quest that will fully unlock the League mechanic. Here is what you need to do to finish this questline:

• After interacting with Undertaker Arimor, exhaust all available dialogue options.
• Once Arimor gives you the Lantern, go to the edge of the current zone to investigate existing ghostly energies.
• The Lantern will highlight which monsters are haunted. Kill these empowered mobs.
• After you kill all empowered mobs, a corpse will appear for you to collect. Undertaken Arimor will appear after he obtains the remains.
• Interact with Arimor once he has collected the corpse, and he will invite you to Necropolis. You can get to this area by interacting with him again or using a Waypoint.
• Once you arrive in the City of the Dead, find Undertake Arimor and talk to him again. He will reveal the secrets about the dead and what you must do next.
• Arimor will tell you to bury the corpse you collected in a designated burial ground. Look for the spot and interact with it to bury the remains.
• You will then be prompted to exorcise the corpse, creating an item of your choosing.
• Go back to Arimor and talk to him again to conclude the quest.

What Else Does the Lantern of Arimor Do

Aside from buffing monsters, the Lantern provides several other modifiers to help you get better items. Some mobs become Devoted Monsters, which can give various perks upon being slayed, like EXP boosts and additional loot. Monsters afflicted with Unresolved Anguied are the ones that you bring back to the Necropolis. 

The best thing about the Lantern is that you can customize which spirits will pair with which mobs. This allows you to alter the map's difficulty. However, you won't be able to do this during the end-game mapping system. You must exit and find another map to do a less complicated zone. 

While you cannot alter the modifiers once you’re inside the map, you can improve the pack monsters in maps by using Embers of the Allflame, which is exclusive to the current League. Many types of these items are available in PoE Necropolis, so you must discover them yourself.
