How to Get Pirate Coins Lost Ark

Lost Ark Pirate Coins

Lost Ark has many currencies players will encounter along their journeys in Arkesia. Aside from the standard Silver and the premium Blue Gems, one of the most critical and accessible tokens in the popular MMO ARPG is the Pirate Coins. These alternate pieces are an essential trading currency for several valuable artifacts and collectibles. The wares that Pirate Coins can buy are costly, so players need to farm and save up for more to purchase everything they need in the game. Thankfully, it's easy to learn how to farm Pirate Coins in Lost Ark with this guide.

What are Pirate Coins in Lost Ark?

Pirate Coins are money in Lost Ark that can be acquired through various means other than farming mobs or raid bosses. The acquisition varies from doing simple Una’s Tasks or releasing prisoners from a slave market. The usage of this currency also changes as it can be traded for tons of materials that can be used for many functions in the game.

Pirate Coins’ base function is that they can be used to buy Honing Materials from Merchant Ships found in the Open Seas or Ports in Major Cities. These coins can also be used to purchase upgrade ingredients for Ships. Aside from these, they can also be used to buy various collectibles such as songs, crewmates, and Treasure Maps. The most crucial artifact this currency can buy is Giant’s Hearts, which are extremely hard to obtain.

Where to Farm Pirate Coins?

Due to the vast number of things to spend on, players might find that they run out of Pirate Coins quickly if they merrily spend their money without any thought. While spending coins on their characters is not inherently wrong, gamers should ensure that they save up enough of this currency to buy the most important things.

If adventurers find they are lacking in Pirate Coins, they will need to farm more of this currency. There are various ways to obtain these trading tokens. Some can be done repetitively, while some can only be done once for the whole roster. Here are the different methods of acquiring Pirate Coins in Arkesia:

Trading Coins for Coins

As mentioned, Arkesia has many currencies players can encounter on their journeys. Pirate Coins are not the only Open Seas currencies available in-game. There are five additional types of tokens: the Gienah’s Coin, Sceptrum’s Coin, Arcturus’s Coin, Ancient Coins, and Sun Coins. This money is used for various exchanges, mainly in acquiring crewmates and collectibles.

When these tokens accumulate more than is needed, players have the option to exchange them for Pirate Coins. These trades can be made with the Tea and Libra Guild Vessel, which can be found in every major port in Arkesia. Here are the exchange values for each currency:

  • 1 Gienah’s Coin – 10 Pirate Coins
  • 1 Sceptrum’s Coin – 12 Pirate Coins
  • 1 Arcturus’s Coin – 15 Pirate Coins
  • 1 Ancient Coin – 17 Pirate Coins
  • 1 Sun Coin – 20 Pirate Coins

While trading these currencies for Pirate Coins is undoubtedly a viable option, players should only do that when they are sure they no longer need them. Acquiring these types of tokens can be tedious. Farming these coins is mainly done during Open Seas Sailing Events, which can only be done once a day.

Island Quest chains

As adventurers sail through Arkesia, they will encounter tons of various islands. Each of these bodies of land will host myriads of quests that will provide multiple valuable loots. There are specific islands that will reward players with tons of Pirate Coins, so gamers should ensure that they finish these questlines as soon as possible. Here are all the best islands that players should go to and how many tokens they can get from them:

  • Giant Mushroom Island – 2000 Pirate Coins
  • Peyto and Glacier Isle – 5000 Pirate Coins
  • Runaways Island – 5000 Pirate Coins
  • Sublime Island – 6000 Pirate Coins
  • Golden Wave Island – 7000 Pirate Coins
  • Kalthertz – 8600

  • Blackfang’s Den – 10,000 Pirate Coins
  • Freedom Isle – 15,000 Pirate Coins
  • Lullaby Island – 16,000 Pirate Coins

Generally, almost every Island Quest will reward players with tokens. However, the ones on the list have missions that give out the most Pirate Coins. It is ideal to try and hit up every Island mission available in the game. These tasks can also reward players with High Seas Coin Chests, which they can use to acquire various Open Seas Coins. Adventurers should know that these quests can only be done once.

Una’s Tasks

In Arkesia, doing dailies called Una’s Tasks are essential in unlocking various contents. These missions can yield stat potions, virtue points, collectibles, and other currencies. Some dailies provide tons of Pirate Coins for every stage completed, so adventurers who are collecting this currency should ensure that they do these Una’s right away. Here are all the available daily missions and their corresponding rewards:

    • 80/80 - 19,000 Pirate Coins
    • 120/120 - 29,000 Pirate Coins

Adventurers should note that the rewards for each phase in every Una’s Tasks can only be acquired once per roster. However, the amount of Pirate Coins dropped is worth the effort.

Procyon Compass’ Adventure Islands

Players can do various time-limited daily events once per daily reset. These timed events provide different loot depending on which type of Procyon Compass they fall under. Pirate Coin farmers should aim to attend Adventure Islands when they can.

Procyon Compass’ Adventure Islands can be accessed weekly and twice on weekends. These activities can reward players with Silver, Gold, Pirate Coins, High Seas Coin Chest, Card Packs, and, sometimes, Island Tokens. Here are all the Island Adventures that adventurers should go to:

  • Asura Island
  • Alakkir (Time-limited Island)
  • Forpe Island
  • Drumbeat Island
  • Harmony Island
  • Illusion Isle (Time-limited Island)
  • Lush Reed Island
  • Lagoon Island
  • Medeia
  • Monte Island
  • Oblivion Isle
  • Opportunity Isle
  • Phantomwing Island
  • Snowpang Island
  • Shangra
  • Spida Island
  • Tranquil Isle
  • Tooki Island
  • Volare Island
  • Unknown Island

Kalthertz Prisoners

Freeing would-be slaves on Kalthertz Island is a very worthwhile endeavor for players. Adventurers can free up to five prisoners daily for each roster character. Liberating these slaves can reward prizes such as Silver, Providence Stone, Crewmates, Pirate Coins, and the coveted Kalthertz Island Token. However, this activity requires effort and a bit of luck.

While most players free prisoners for the related Una’s Tasks or the Island Soul Token, doing this daily activity can be one of the most constant ways of slowly accumulating Pirate Coins. However, since this method also relies on luck, there is a chance that gamers might lose more money than they make. Here are all the prisoners that players can liberate and their corresponding rewards:

  • 300 Pirate Coin Male – rewards Silver
  • 1800 Pirate Coin Female – rewards Silver
  • 600 Pirate Coin Male – rewards Providence Stone
  • 900 Pirate Coin Female – rewards Providence Stone
  • 900 Pirate Coin Male – rewards Pirate Coins
  • 600 Pirate Coin Female – rewards Pirate Coins

Adventurers should note that farming Pirate Coins this way relies on RNG. They should expect some net losses since the number of currency rewards vary from time to time. Ideally, gamers should do this often while doing the related Una’s Tasks or during Island Soul hunting.

What to Buy with Pirate Coins?

There are a lot of things that adventurers can buy using their Pirate Coins. While some may be tempted to buy Honing Materials to enhance their gear, it is advisable to save tokens until they can buy some of the essential items in the game.
