How to Complete Simulated Universe World 4

Simulated Universe World 4

Boss: Svarog (Complete)

Elites: Stormbringer (Bug), Frigid Prowler, Automaton Grizzly, Decaying Shadow

Immersion Rewards: Talia: Kingdom of Banditry, Sprightly Vonwacq

With these Planar Ornaments being unused in meta, this World will be farmed sparingly. Still, knowing how to complete it is essential to get further rewards in more complex difficulties. Here are some suggestions for tackling this challenge.

Svarog (Complete) Boss Battle Overview

Svarog, as a robot, is vulnerable to Lightning, Fire, and Wind. The battle has three phases, and here are the attacks he uses during combat.

Phase 1

Banishing Punch - Deals Physical DMG to one target.

Burning Beam - Deals Physical DMG to one target and delays their turn.

Power Amplification - Increases damage dealt by ally units; can stack if he uses it again.

Emergency Support - Summons Automaton Beetle or Automaton Hound at random.

Phase 2

Banishing Punch

Burning Beam

Power Amplification

Oversaturated Bombardment - Deals Physical DMG to all targets. It may also inflict a DEF down effect.

Tactical Support - Summons Automaton Direwolf.

Phase 3

Banishing Punch

Burning Beam

Oversaturated Bombardment

Boost Deployment - Summons Auxillary Robot Arm Unit

Oppressive Embrace - An Auxillary Robot Arm Unit imprisons a single target, keeping them from being affected by skills from either allies or enemies. Freeing them requires Weakness Breaking or defeating the arm.

Overload Warning - The Auxillary Robot Arm Unit enters a countdown mode, making the following action Controlled Blasting.

Controlled Blasting - The Auxillary Robot Arm explodes, dealing significant Physical DMG to a single target. It only activates when there's an imprisoned character.

More Details

Svarog's most deadly ability is his summoning of hands (Boost Deployment). These hands will always prioritize imprisoning your DPS or healer unless you have a taunting ability to redirect the grabby motions. Otherwise, be quick to break your ally out. The trapped characters can die taking Controlled Blasting and can't be healed while in the arm's grasp.

It can be manageable if you alternate breaking Svarog or the Arms. However, the boss will summon two of them, complicating things. Still, Svarog should be your primary target, as summoned enemies disappear when the boss dies.

Recommended Characters

With Svarog's weaknesses, these characters will be great against him:

  • Dan Heng
  • Sampo
  • Bronya
  • Asta
  • Fire Trailblazer
  • Hook
  • Himeko
  • Serval
  • Jing Yuan
  • Arlan
  • Bailu
  • Natasha
  • Gepard

Fire, Wind, and Lightning users are your best friends. Many enemies are weak to those elements, which should make cleaving through them a breeze. They're also the main weaknesses of the boss. Natasha and Gepard are there for survival as the free healer and the best shielder.

For the most part, you should have the 4-star characters and the Trailblazer to help you in this fight. The 5-star ones are just icing on the cake to make things easier. In fact, a well-built Serval could be a big help during the boss fight. Especially one that's built to break toughness bars. Between her and Jing Yuan (if you have him), you should be set for DPS and Weakness Breaking.

Remember to bring a DPS that uses an element Svarog is weak to. It has resistance to those other elements, making the battle run longer. There is an exception to over-leveled characters, but that requires lowering the difficulty level and decreasing the rewards you can get.

Recommended Paths

Abundance remains a survival path if you're confident about your DPS. Preservation can also work. Still, DPS Paths (Destruction, Hunt, Elation, Nihility) should be picked depending on your preferred characters. Remembrance remains the weakest option because Svarog resists Freezing and the Ice element.

Serval and Sampo benefit from Nihility. Jing Yuan and Himeko get stronger with Elation Blessings. Arlan and Hook would like Destruction Blessings. So far, only Dan Heng gets Hunt. With the randomness, you'll get a mixture of many Paths anyway, but concentrate on strengthening your chosen DPS.

Anything that includes increasing Break Efficiency/Effect for specific blessings should help. You'll want to be able to Weakness Break Svarog or his Auxiliary Robot Arms as quickly as possible. Ensure you have a character who can whittle down their toughness bars rapidly.

Recommended Curios

If you have the chance for Error Curios, grab them early. They can be a great help in battles, rare among the Curios available. Those that upgrade Blessings will also be excellent, as it is a 'free' upgrade. This lessens the spending on Cosmic Fragments and boosts your combat ability.

Unfortunately, there are only three with this kind of effect: Warping Compound Eye, Entropic Die, and Beacon Coloring Paste. Still, even just having one of those can help immensely, as you can save Cosmic Fragments with them.

Tips and Tricks

A taunt ability (Fire Trailblazer's Skill, March 7th's Skill's Passive effect) or the Landau's Choice Light Cone will help immensely. This will make the Robot Arms grab and trap your Tank (or whoever has more than 30% HP to which March gave a shield) instead of your DPS or healer. Tank characters are also most likely to survive being trapped in their oppressive embrace.

Still, the best choice is to whittle down Svarog or the Arms' toughness bars as quickly as possible. This frees your trapped ally or delays their next turn slightly. Whether the Arms have grabbed someone or not, keeping them in the broken state is your best interest.

As mentioned, it is possible to alternate breaking Svarog or his Arms. When Svarog is broken, it's technically a free turn for you because the Arms won't move without the robot's command. When the Arms are broken, Svarog can't use them to grab your characters. However, he still packs a punch with his Oversaturated Bombardment attack, so be careful.

A rare occurrence event can lead to you earning all the Blessings from one path. If you ever encounter this for Preservation, it's your surefire ticket to winning against the boss. Combined with a few Destruction Blessings that conditionally create a shield, you can watch Svarog blast himself. Of course, you can only sometimes rely on this tactic. If the chance does appear, you'll know to take it.

Why You Should Farm the Talia Set

Break Effect is an understated stat in Star Rail. Not only does it increase the damage on toughness bars, but it also increases the damage of the status Weakness Break inflicts. For a World with a boss where you're reliant on the stat, it fits that the Immersion Rewards give players a set for it.

Weakness Break is a crowd control stat. Depleting toughness bars allows you to delay the enemy's turn slightly or keep them from performing a potent charged attack. Of course, you'll still need a DPS character to defeat the enemy. However, making enemies vulnerable is a valuable ability in combat.

It's beneficial for Quantum and Imaginary characters, as they can delay the enemies' following action when they Weakness Break targets. Increasing their Break Effect stat also increases that delay, giving you more turns to attack the enemy before they can recover.

Enjoy the Simulated World!

World 4 might have the most annoying boss in the Simulated Universe, but the right strategies can make it easy. Still, with the randomness of the feature, what works varies from run to run. You'll lose one time only to win the next. It's exciting (but also frustrating) not knowing what's coming next.

Although you can expect the boss at the end, how you got there will always differ from your previous run. You'll have varying Blessings, Curios, and Events, making you adjust your strategies on the fly. It's the draw of the Simulation Universe and why you can run it repeatedly.
