Gloria Victis Level Progression Guide

Gloria Victis Level Progression

Gloria Victis' leveling system is unique compared to other MMOs on the platform. Unlike other games that provide additional abilities when you rank up, this skilled-based fantasy MMORPG does not feature a similar style to maintain a balanced combat field between newbies and veterans. However, leveling is essential for unlocking content and increasing your stats, so players should be encouraged to power-leveling their characters. This guide will show you can rank up your account quickly.

Why Should you Level Up in Gloria Victis?

New players will be intimidated if they encounter a level 100 enemy while a castle is under siege. While the power disparity might look obvious, this gap between ranks barely impacts combat since the fight will depend on the fighters' skills. While level does allow you to invest points in a particular area, it only dictates your playstyle and not your actual potency in battle.

Considering that combat is not significantly affected by level, players are still encouraged to rank up their characters. The main reason for this is that your current status in your progression dictates what content you should participate in. Most end-game features are available after reaching, regardless of your level, but minimum requirements are suggested to ensure you don't get slaughtered. Here are some examples of events you are expected to do at certain levels:

What is the Max Level in Gloria Victis

The highest rank that players can achieve in GV is level 100. It is relatively easy to reach the cap since the exp grind is not as intensive and demanding as other MMOs. Some players can get 100 in three weeks, depending on how frequently and efficiently they play.

How to Level Up in Gloria Victis

There are various sources of experience in Gloria Victis, and each has varying efficiency depending on your stage. There are two phases in your progression wherein you will focus on specific content. Leveling in GV is divided into Rank 1 to 45 and then 45 and beyond.

Leveling from 1 to 45 is easy as it only requires players to do the tutorial. Experienced MMO gamers can finish the guide questlines in approximately 2-3 hours. However, newer players might take longer, but it can still be accomplished in less than six hours.

After reaching level 45, players can explore various options to level up their characters. Quests will still provide the most significant amount of experience in total, but gamers will need to expand their farming activities to make their progress more efficient. Here are some ways to grind EXP beyond level 45:

Quests

As mentioned earlier, missions provide some of the largest experience rewards in GV. If you aren't doing any crafting or events, then you should make sure you are trying to complete certain quests near your area. Here are some of the tasks that you should do:

  • Meet on the Battlefield
  • Crafting Training
  • A Bitter Taste of Vengeance
  • The Adventurous Four
  • Hunting Monsters
  • Paper More Valuable than Life
  • The One Ring to Rule Them All
  • A Curse in Disguise

Gathering

Unlike many MMOs, Gloria Victis ties your life skill activities to your main experience bar. Collecting materials from the wild such as lumber and leather, will contribute to your progression instead of leveling up a different tradeskill. Gathering resources is highly beneficial because it helps you on three fronts.

Gathering will mainly benefit your character progression by rewarding decent experience points. This activity's second benefit is gaining a stock of essential materials. These items are important in crafting gear to strengthen your character. If you aren't the type to create your own set, you can trade them with other players and earn some money.

Do Events

World Events (scheduled or unlisted) are a great way to earn some great exp. There are many variations for doing challenges, and you can also loot items from some of them. However, these events can be challenging since many are PvP oriented. However, there are still PvE-based situations, so you can look for those if they are more your style.

There are World Events that can be done solo or in massive groups. One notable instance is the Valley of Death Tourney, one of the biggest large-scale PvP. While these battles are incredibly challenging, the rewards are worth the effort.

Catacombs or Dungeons

One particular activity that you can do with friends is Dungeons. These instances are filled with high-end loot and reward tremendous experience. If you want to do these challenges, you should ensure you are either level 50 and above or going in with a group.

The dungeons are filled with some of the most potent mobs you can face in Gloria Victus. PvP is still open in these instances, making these Catacombs even more challenging. Hostile players can ambush you and take all your hard-earned loot if you aren't prepared. This type of content is high-risk but has high reward features, so you should ensure you are well-prepared before entering.

Other Ways to Level Up

There are other sources of experience Gloria Victis that you can consider if you are tired of doing the main EXP farm methods. Some of these do not provide loot or give small exp, so it is not advisable to spam them. However, if you are currently idle and looking for a new thing to do, here are some of the best alternatives to the main exp farm routes:

  • Announcement Boards
  • Bastions
  • Fishing Stock
  • Upgrading Castle Structures
  • 1v1 Duels
  • Arena Group Fights
  • Participating in Sieges
  • Daily Challenges
  • Fighting Kargald Champions
  • Treasure Hunting

Other Tips for Leveling Up

Aside from doing exp farming activities, there are other things you should do to make your grinding more efficient. These things include making your character more powerful or simply looking for people to run with. Here are some tips to help you in your progression:

  • Find your Style – Figuring out what and how you want to play can tremendously help your grind. By focusing on one build, you become more effective and familiar with that playstyle, which makes you a much better fighter. Since GV is about skill, mastering a specific setup will increase your chances of finishing raids and events.
  • Find a Group – While you can play Gloria Victis solo, having a group of friends or guild to back you up is something you should consider. Having a company to run with ensures you don't spend too much time looking for people to run Catacombs with. Friends can also help you hunt for World Events, ensuring you can finish them successfully.
  • Be Mindful of Buffs – Nationwide buffs are a thing in Gloria Victis, so you should be aware of when there are active bonuses during a specific time. Status effects like "Balancing System" provide a 25% bonus experience, a great time to try grinding EXP. Here are examples of buffs that you should be aware of:
    • Veteran
    • Reward for Controlled Locations
    • Lord

It's Not About the Level

While players are highly encouraged to grind their level, they should not be intimidated by those who have reached the level cap. Gloria Victis is all about skill and tactics so that a lower-level fighter can take down someone with a higher rank but less skilled. However, it would help if you still put some effort into your character progression to optimize your stats and your build.
