How to get Turncoat in Destiny 2 (Intrinsics and Catalyst Guide)

Monument of Triumph, the final update to the long saga that was Destiny 2. This update saw the release of a long-requested weapon, an Exotic Void Handcannon. Turncoat, the only Exotic Void Handcannon, has finally been released, and here's how to get it.

Destiny 2 Turncoat Guide

Many in the community are in love with the weapon thanks to its Exotic Perks. Users have described it as a mix of Touch of Malice and Last Word. Thanks to its impressive stats and Perks, it's widely used in the game by those with access to it.

Turncoat Location

This brand new Exotic hand cannon can be acquired from the rewards pass. It's part of the Premium pass, and once purchased, the player can claim the weapon immediately. There are no other known methods for acquiring the Turncoat, so if you want this weapon, you will have to purchase a Premium Rewards Pass.

Turncoat Exotic Perks

Intrinsic Trait: Latent Power // Δ Barrier

Latent Power rewards players for being accurate with their shots by giving players a massive buff. When activated, the user receives a buff called Unleashed Power, which increases the rate of fire of the weapon as well as massively increases hip-fire accuracy. Other than providing players with an impactful buff, enemies hit by Turncoat receive the Weaken debuff, which increases damage taken and reduces movement speed. Players using Turncoat also receive a debuff called Overwhelming Power, which causes them to take damage over time and can be canceled by reloading or swapping weapons.

Trait: Power Surge

This works perfectly with Turncoat, especially when Unleashed Power is active. Rapid hits on an enemy charge your bullets, making them explosive. While empowered, every shot is explosive, making this weapon great in both PvP and PvE.

Turncoat Catalyst: Void Mastery

While active, the user receives a Void Overshield, which is extremely useful in tense PvP situations. The Void Overshield only activates while the player is empowered, and its strength is directly proportional to how long it's been active. Its catalyst could help negate the debuff players receive while Overwhelming Power is active, so getting the catalyst as soon as possible is a must.
