However, you won’t be able to access this weapon until the latter part of this expansion. Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Graviton Spike Overview
The Graviton Spike is an exotic hand cannon that features several perks. It has great stats with its impact and handling, but it’s the unique effects that make this weapon shine. Here are the exotic perks for the Graviton Spike:
- Temporal Manipulation: [Alternate Weapon Action] to swap between fast-firing Arc mode or slow-firing Stasis mode. Final blows and precision hits overcharge the opposing mode, enabling additional effects.
- Temporal Anomaly: While overcharged, each mode expends a portion of the overcharge for additional effects on final blows or precision hits:
- Arc mode calls down lightning strikes.
- Stasis mode creates an explosion and forms Stasis crystals.
The Temporal effects can easily take down a bunch of enemies due to its insane burst damage during overcharge. These perks make the Graviton Spike one of the best available hand cannons in Destiny 2.
How to Get Graviton Spike
You can only start progressing to the Graviton Spike after you've completed the Edge of Fate campaign. You can finish it either in Normal or Legendary as long as you get the triumphs at the end. Afterward, you'll need to head to the Altar of Relativity in Kepler to get the Graviton Through the Ages quest. Accepting the mission will lead you to interact with several NPCs and collect the exotic pieces for the hand cannon.
To start it off, you need to interact with Lodi and The Emeritus in the Hub of Kepler. Afterward, you’ll have to locate the Graviton Spike pieces by using the Rosetta device to triangulate their locations. You’ll be looking for command modules that require you to input some codes. The solutions for these nodes are found in areas guarded by Minotaurs called Rosetta sentries, which you must defeat to access the codes. These are generally what you’ll be doing the whole time, but there are several tips you can use to make your treasure hunt easier:
- You'll need to unlock Matter Spark because several areas in this quest require you to use it.
- After finding a piece, return to The Emeritus to triangulate the following pieces.
- Highlighting or selecting the triangulated area can help you locate the nodes.
- There are only four pieces for the Graviton Spike, but you’ll need to do a Sieve activity to obtain the last piece. It’s easier to get it via matchmaking.
The first, second, and third pieces are just search activities. The fourth piece will require a bit more effort because you’ll need to defeat Vex to collect data fragments. The last node will be barred behind lasers, which you can defuse using a Relocator cannon. The cannon can be obtained from a container above the open area outside the laser door. You’ll need to lift a piece of rubble under it using a matamorph. Once you shoot through the door and destroy the lasers using the Relocator canon, you’ll have to do a Sieve activity to obtain the Graviton Spike.
