How To Set Up Ability Macros in Aion 2

Machine-gunning through your class' damage rotation is a core mechanic of Aion 2, and some combos require constant uptime to output maximum DPS on a boss. However, this means going through your entire keyboard to press every attack skill button in sequence. Luckily, you can improve your QOL by creating an ability macro that binds a sequence of attacks to one button for easier combo inputs. This guide will show you how to set up your own macros.

Creating Macros

In your menu, go to your Skills tab, and you will see your hotbar and your skills on the right. To create a macro, drag the skill icons into a hotkey on your hotbar, and arrange your skill combo from bottom to top. Skills on the bottom row are the first priority in the macro, with all other skills moving up the order vertically up to the last row on top.

If a skill has an instant cooldown and unlimited use, don't put it in a macro, since it will always be prioritized first over the other skills in the sequence.

Using a Macro

Once you have your macro bound to your hotkey of choice, you can simply hold the key to automatically cycle through the ability order. Remember, the macro will go through the sequence from high to low priority, so test it on the target dummy.

Macro Delay

You can customize your macro to slightly delay the next skill by selecting the skill on your hotbar and clicking on the Macro button on the top right. The default macro delay is 10 milliseconds, but you can adjust it based on your average ping.

Best Macro Order

Since Aion 2's combat design focuses on using skills to generate a class resource, then using skills that spend that resource for more damage, put all your resource-generating skills on a hotkey like Q, and all your spender skills on E.

For example, Spiritmaster's primary macro should include Summon: Earth Spirit, Summon: Wind Spirit, Summon: Fire Spirit, and Summon: Water Spirit on one hotkey, and Soul's Cry and Elemental Fusion on another. This is a basic example, but you should expand and plan your macros based on your build and the type of content you're doing.
