The Plague Star event will soon make its return, and with it, tons of Forma that you can farm and the extremely rare Exodia Contagion and Exodia Epidemic Arcanes. Operation Plague Star can be a tough mission, but this guide will show you how to complete this mission, as well as how you can increase its difficulty for more rewards.
Plague Star Mechanics
When the event goes live, Konzu will provide Plague Star exclusive bounties that will set up the mission for you and give you reputation upon completing them. Plague Star missions have four phases:
- First, players must locate and retrieve the Grineer's Thrax Toxin storage located in the different cave systems of the Plains.
- Place the Thrax Toxin in a Toxin mixer, which will spawn in an Armored Vault in a given Grineer outpost. Waves of Grineer will then spawn to try and destroy the mixer.
- Disable a Grineer Drone and use it to deliver the toxin into the Infested boil. Defend it while it makes its way to the boil. Once it reaches the boil, Infested enemies will appear from the boil to try and destroy the drone.
Depending on the bounty tier, Hematocytes will spawn throughout the final phase progression. On Tier 1, only standard Infested enemies will appear, but on Tier 2 and above, Hematocytes will appear. Each Hematocyte will be a few levels above 100, so be careful when fighting them. Be aware that the center of the boil has a lethal Toxin cloud that can kill your Warframe, so be careful not to get too close.
Increasing Plague Star Mission Tier
Plague Star bounties cannot have their difficulty tiers increased the normal way and require certain items to craft. Each tier has the following requirements.
- Plague Star: No prerequisite.
- Plague Star Advanced: Requires both an Eidolon Phylaxis and Infested Catalyst to start.
- Plague Star (Steel Path): Requires both an Eidolon Phylaxis and Infested Catalyst to start. Requires Steel Path eligibility to start.
You can get the Eidolon Phylaxis item from the Operational Supply run by Nakak and the blueprints for the Infested Catalyst from the Biolab of your Clan Dojo. All you need to do now to trigger a higher-tier Plague Star run is to have both items in your inventory to trigger the Hematocyte bosses.
Best Rewards To Prioritize
Operation Plague Star only happens every few years and is one of the best sources of Forma in the game while it's available. There are also other valuable items to buy from Nakak in Cetus, of which you should get:
