All Upcoming Warframe Riven Changes

Warframe's Riven mod system is receiving some significant changes for rerolling stats, with one of the biggest changes being the ability to lock specific modifiers on a Riven mod. To help you stay up to date and take advantage of it, this guide covers the Riven updates.

Stat Locking

Previously, you would have to spend thousands of Kuva to reroll the best mod stats that also have the highest base value, which can also cost even more Platinum to buy from the market. Now, certain Riven stats can be locked in place, giving you the chance to keep the best mod stats while still giving you the flexibility to re-roll for better mods.

📌Note: You can only lock one stat, so choose wisely which ones you want to keep before cycling.

Locking a stat will cost both Kuva and a new resource from the Iceblade of Naran update.

Riven Evolution

You can now take two Riven modifiers and combine them to create a completely new effect not seen anywhere else in the Riven drop table. This is called Riven Evolution and requires a resource from the Iceblade of Naran update. One interaction with Riven Evolution is that two base Elemental damage modifiers can be combined to form the Secondary Element of choice (i.e combining a Heat and Cold modifier with Riven Evolution creates a Blast damage modifier)

You can also make other new modifiers with certain stats like Damage and Multishot to form Weakspot Damage. Combined Riven modifiers are specific to the two modifiers that you've chosen, so there's no RNG involved. If more than two Elemental damage types are present in the Riven mod, you can select the new Secondary Element based on the available Primary Elements.
