The Curse of the Allflame update for PoE has introduced a new form of deterministic crafting: Allflame crafting. This system simulates multiple crafting outcomes with your chosen item and currency and allows you to select one item outcome that has all the modifiers you want in that item. This guide will explain how Allflame crafting works and how you can take advantage of this system.
Allflame Crafting Mechanics
You can start Allflame crafting by going below deck of the Sovereign and speaking to Vesper, who will be your crafting bench. This brings up a UI showing two slots: A gear item slot and a currency item slot. To start crafting, you will need the Dead Man's Sulfur currency item. This drops from using an Allflame lantern near glowing green corals.
When crafting, multiple ghostly copies of the base item will appear, each having different modifiers based on the currency item you used. For example, using a Divine Orb on a gear item with Allflame crafting shows multiple copies of the same item with different modifier values. You now get to choose which item with the right modifier stat rolls you want for your build.
Intangibility Mechanic
Using the Allflame crafting method incurs an Intangibility chance whenever you use this system on the same item. Certain currency items like Exalted Orbs, Orb of Annulment, and Fracturing Orb increase the likelihood of Intangibility occurring. When an item becomes Intangible, only one copy of that item will appear, preventing the use of Allflame crafting on that item.
Unavailable Currency Items
Some currency items cannot be used for Allflame crafting due to how they modify an item. Here are the following currencies:
- Vaal Orb
- Orb of Chance
- Ancient Orb
- Tainted Mythic Orb
- Jeweler's Orb
- Chromatic Orb
- Orb of Fusing
- Armorer's Scrap
