Path of Exile 2 introduced the new Merchant System, where players can engage in Asynchronous Trading. This will enable players to trade with one another through a Merchant NPC, eliminating the need for direct interaction. This system saves players time and effort, making transactions more efficient. This guide will teach players how to unlock and use the new Asynchronous Merchant System.
How to Unlock the Merchant Shop
The fastest way to unlock the Merchant Shop is to get a Supporter Pack. You’ll automatically unlock the feature as soon as you hit Act 4. Ange the Merchant will be available in your Hideout right away.
If you’re free-to-play, you can unlock Asynchronous Trading in Act 4. You should unlock Ange the Merchant in Whakapanu Island, which might also let you unlock the Shoreline Hideout. Once you have completed the requirements, Ange should appear in your Hideout the next time you visit it.
📌Note: If Ange is not appearing in your Hideout after you unlock the feature, you can find her in the Hideout edit feature under the NPC tab and place her anywhere within your base.
How to Use the Merchant Shop (Selling)
You’ll need to own specific stash tabs, regardless of whether you’re Free-to-Play or have purchased a Supporter Pack. You can get premium stash tabs from the MTX shop and choose the Merchant’s Tab or the Quad Merchant Stash Tab. Once you have the necessary tabs, you can now use the Asynchronous trading feature.
When you insert an item you want to sell in the Merchant Tabs, you can set how much you want to sell it for in terms of any PoE 2 currency. You can set the type of currency you want in exchange for it and the number of pieces. If someone buys your items, you can obtain the trade items via the Earnings Tabs, which will feature all the tokens you’ve earned so far.
📌Note: Items will be locked for a brief period after you add them to the Merchant Stash. You’ll have to wait a bit before you can take an item out of the tab.
How to Buy Items via Asynchronous Trading (Buying)
You don’t need to unlock Agnes or have a Merchant Stash Tab to buy items via Asynchronous Trading. All you need to do is access the Market Panel, which can be found via the Hamburger Icon in the lower left UI. This will open an interface that allows you to tailor the type of items you’re looking for. Once you click the search button, any gear that meets your criteria will appear in the results. If you want to buy an item, you need to click the Teleport to their Seller’s hideout button. Once you arrive at the Seller’s Hideout, you can also browse through their Merchant Stash Tab to see if there are other items you might want to get.
📌Note: It’s better to have the necessary amount of currency in your personal inventory before you head to the Merchant’s Hideout.
