Overwatch’s latest update has plenty of content to play and unlock. Since everyone is starting fresh, players are grinding in competitive mode to get their hands on the new Crimson Wolf skin variant. It has become a crown jewel among players and is on par with the Golden, Jade, and Galactic skin variants from previous updates. If you want to get the skin variant, here’s a guide on how to unlock it.
How to Unlock Crimson Wolf in Overwatch
Just like its predecessors, the Crimson Wolf skin variant is unlocked by earning 3,000 Competitive Points. Competitive Points can be earned by playing any open or role queue in competitive modes, such as Standard or Stadium matches. To guarantee that you earn Competitive Points, you either need to win or draw the match.
Players can earn 10 Competitive Points from winning a Standard match and 5 for a draw. The maximum amount of points you can earn from a single game is 20, and that’s from winning a Stadium match. Additional points can be earned by progressing through Standard and Stadium mode, which will earn you 100 points.
As of writing, players won’t be able to unlock the skin variant until February 24. Since Competitive Points reset every year, everyone is grinding competitive matches to earn the necessary points to unlock the Crimson Wolf. So, while the variant isn’t available yet, you can start earning points and, at the same time, rank up your account.
If you want to know how many Competitive Points you have, you can look for it in the main menu next to the PLAY button. It’s a red currency icon that’s easy to spot. If you want to earn Competitive Points fast, you can check out the marketplace and look for Overwatch Boosting services and see the best offers!
