Marvel Rivals players find themselves besieged with multiple limited-time events all happening simultaneously. With frequent events, freemium players often find themselves short on Units. These are often used during events to acquire time-gated cosmetics, and with the Gambit x Rogue Marriage Event well underway, here is your guide to earning Units with a bonus tip for getting free Units at Times Square.
Method 1: 200 FREE Units at Times Square
During special events and occasions, players can sometimes earn free Units by heading to Times Square. In this social hub, players can interact with event stages and special displays to earn free Units. Currently, players can earn 100 free Units just by riding the horse-drawn carriage during the Love on Parade event, which will last until March 3. The other batch of 100 free Units comes from the Lunar New Year celebration. All the player has to do is claim the Red Packet on the event stage to register their participation and receive their free currency.
Method 2: Battlepass, Missions, and Events
The start of Season 6 introduces the Night at the Museum battle pass, featuring a robust selection of cosmetics and currency. Battle pass owners can earn up to 600 Units, while the average player can earn a respectable 400 Units. Players can also choose to complete Event Missions for a small number of Units. Whac-a-Jeff is the current Seasonal Mission. Completing all 24 Missions for this season will give you a total of 250 Units, and if you complete the mini game, you can get an additional 100 Units. Completing the battle pass and missions will net you 950 Units for paid players and 750 Units for freemium players.
Method 3: Hero Proficiency
If you are looking for a steady source of Units, then it's best to grind proficiency levels of your favorite characters. Increasing character proficiency provides a ton of cosmetic options and a generous amount of currencies. Each character in Marvel Rivals can provide a total of 500 Units and 500 Unstable Molecules. The best part about this system is that the character does not even have to reach Level 70. All 500 Units are from levels 1-49, and considering that there are 33 characters at the time of writing, players can earn a total of 16,500 Units.
