How to Get Anti-Virus Packs in Marathon
There are two ways to obtain Anti-Virus Packs in Marathon. The guide will provide both options to help you survive the Lockdown event.
Anti-Virus Packs Through Faction Upgrades
You can get Anti-Virus Packs from Faction upgrades. Here’s what you need to do.
- First, you need to unlock the MIDA Faction.
- Join their faction, and you need to take the faction rank to level 5 or higher.
- You’ll need 23 Unstable Lead and 1,500 Credits to get the upgrade.
- Once you have used the materials to get the Faction Upgrade, you’ll have the Anti-Virus Packs available in the Armory Section from the MIDA Faction page.
Anti-Virus Packs Through Lootboxes
If you’re just starting out in Marathon, the Faction Upgrade method will take some time to accomplish, especially with the required materials. So, your best option as a beginner is to rely on Lockboxes.
The only downside to this method is that you need to unlock the Lockboxes, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll get an Anti-Virus Pack. Aside from Lockboxes, you can also look through lootable containers and boxes, but they also don’t have a guarantee of finding the packs inside. You’ll definitely need some luck and rely on the game’s RNG.
How to Use Anti-Virus Packs in Marathon’s Lockdown Event
If you’ve already obtained the Anti-Virus Packs and are ready to partake in the Lockdown event, here’s how to use them. At the beginning of the event on Dire Mash, immediately consume the packs. Then, proceed to look for the Lockdown Drive.
By taking the Anti-Virus Pack at the start of the event, you’ll preserve your health and shield yourself in the corrupted field. While you try to complete the task of finding the drive, UESC enemies will spawn. Kill all of them to get some loot. Finding the Lockdown Drive finishes the event. Completing the event will be much easier with the Anti-Virus Packs, which keep you safe from corruption.
