The secret ending involves gathering a certain material called Pollip Hearts and achieving the Cursed status effect before beating the final boss. This ending can be missed, but it can also force you into this one instead of the ending you want. This guide will show you the conditions you must meet to get the secret ending and how to avoid them if you want a different ending.
Obtain the Cursed Status Effect
In order to be cursed, you must get the Twisted Bud located in Bilewater. The item is in a hidden wall after a short pogo platforming section. Next, you will need to complete the Wish Rite of the Pollip from the NPC named Greyroot. To complete this quest, you must gather Pollip Hearts.
Pollip Hearts are found exclusively in Shellwood and require the Cling Grip to harvest. Once you gather 6 Pollip Hearts, return to Greyroot to receive the Pollip Pouch and progress with her questline.
Next, promise to fill her next Wish Rite of Rebirth, which will apply the status effect on you.
Getting the Secret Ending (Spoiler)
Once you have the Curse effect on you, your Silk meter will be drastically reduced. To get the ending, all you need to do is defeat Grand Mother Silk while Cursed, which can be difficult as you do not have enough Silk to regenerate health.
Curing the Curse
If you somehow got cursed without seeking the secret ending, you can cure it by speaking to Yarnaby in Geymoor, in a locked bellhome at the upper left corner of the region. This starts the Wish Infestation Operation.
To complete this quest, you must buy Steel Spines from Crull and Benjin in Sinner’s Road. It costs 260 Rosaries. Return to Yarnaby with the Steel Spines to cure the curse, complete the Wish, and receive the Witch crest as your reward.
