The True Ending to Hollow Knight: Silksong can only be obtained once you've beaten the game already. From there, you'll need to complete some prerequisite steps that lead to Act 3, such as completing every Wish in the game, advancing the Flea Caravan to the Putrified Ducts, and completing a Wish that only appears after completing every prerequisite. Here's how you can start Act 3 and achieve the True Ending.
Act 3 Steps
Completing all these prerequisites in any order will put you on track towards Act 3 and by extension, the True Ending for Silksong:
- Beat the game at least once (beating Grand Mother Silk)
- Clear all Wish Board requests in Bone Bottom, Belhart, and Songclave during the run.
- Complete all NPC Wishes.
- Get the ability to double jump
- Progress the Flea Caravan into the Putrified Ducts
- Get an item after beating the Bilewater boss
- Complete Shakra’s questline
After completing all prerequisites, you'll unlock a new quest in any Wish Board called Silk and Soul. This Wish will get you on track to Act 3. To complete this quest, you'll need the following:
- The Maiden’s Soul from the Maiden in Bone Bottom
- The Hermit’s Soul from the Bell Hermit in a fake wall in Bellway
- The Seeker’s Soul in a house in Bilewater
- The Snaresetter in Weavenest Atla, after opening the Needolin Gate in the lower section of Moss Grotto.
Afterwards, when reaching and defeating Grand Mother Silk, play the Needolin instead of binding her to unlock Act 3. While this will give you the “Bad Ending” for the main game, your second save file will be the location for Act 3.
True Ending Location and Boss (Spoiler Alert)
Progressing through this ending path will cause the whole world to be consumed by the Void. The main story quest will guide you towards the True Ending, where you reach The Abyss and fight Lost Lace.
