A Genshin C6 account means having some characters with complete upgrades. These characters will have their abilities boosted in various ways. Genshin is a gacha game and getting characters means players get theirs at random. It follows, then, that they might end up with two of these characters. The game’s mechanics do not allow for a single player to use two of the same character within one party but it’s possible in co-op. In that case, where do the duplicates go?
Genshin Impact has the ‘Constellation’ system. When players first get a character, the said character doesn’t have upgrades at all. If they get that same once again, it would count as a Constellation upgrade. They don’t get duplicates like in some other gacha games. Furthermore, the system automatically converts the character into the currency needed to unlock the upgrade.
To access Constellations, players have to go to the character menu where they can set weapons and artifacts for the character. Among the choices on the left is ‘Constellations’ where they can see the possible upgrades for the character. There are always six upgrades for all characters except Aloy who has none.
C6 means a character who has all six upgrades, meaning the player got the character at least seven times. First is getting the character (C0) then getting them again six more times (C1-C6). Getting that same character past C6 gives the player currency to use in Paimon’s Bargains.
The third (C3) and fifth (C5) upgrades will always add 3 levels to the character’s talents. It will always be for the Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, and never for the Normal Attack talent. Which skill the upgrade boosts depends on the character. Sometimes it’s the Burst for C3 and Skill on C5, while others have it reversed.
The other upgrades vary. Some might have a hidden healing ability (Gorou C4, Zhongli C6) while others may boost their attack or skills. Barbara’s C6 is a resurrection ability with a 15-minute cooldown. It’s the same for Qiqi, but Barb’s 4-star status makes her more accessible.
That said, not all of the characters need C6 to be at their most effective. Many players would rather leave Bennett at C5, for example. Build guides sometimes give recommendations for a character’s constellation upgrades as well.
Getting the C6 of 4-star characters is much simpler than those for 5-star ones. However, luck plays a big role in what characters a player gets. They might get so many of this one character they don’t really use, while the one they actually want to use stays at C0. Also, 5-stars are already hard to get, with a chance that the one players get isn’t even the one they want. With a C6 Genshin account, buyers can be certain that they get a C6 character of their choosing, whether 4-star or not.
