What Happened in Season 4?
Fortnite’s Season 3 featured a comet, later discovered to be a meteor, that fell on the island and thereby gave it a veritable facelift. It was then discovered that the rocks left behind this incident miraculously gave players the ability to defy gravity via uber-high jumps. As cleanup efforts went underway, a surprise came along as they found an entity inside the meteor. All the while, as actors were busy filming a superhero movie in the vicinity, it is also discovered that the nefarious villain Omega had escaped. This prompted the heroic Carbide to call upon his superhero team to try and stop Omega. To further complicate things, a robotic entity known as The Visitor emerges from the meteor. The Visitor then makes a base of operations out of Omega’s abandoned lair where he hatches a devious plot to collide our universe with that of the Fortniteverse.
These events eventually led to what is now known as The Rocket Event. During this time, The dreaded Visitor launches an ominous rocket. The rocket then proceeds to threaten everything but during its descent, it inadvertently opened up an interdimensional rift which it disappeared into. However, it reappeared through another rift only to disappear once more. And as if that wasn’t enough, it completed its trifecta of disappearance and reappearances by opening up a final rift that ultimately cracked the sky open. This is when the Fortniteverse and the universe finally collided. As a result, even more rifts sprung up around the map. Sadly, these rifts sucked beloved landmarks such as the Durr Burger and the Tomato Head. All these events prompted the start of Season 5.
