Mists of Pandaria Classic just kicked off Phase 1, and queue times are already going up. While players wait for their turn to get into their respective servers, it's a good time to review the basics and some tips for WoW Classic. Several tricks help players get content-appropriate items or even account-bound consumables.
Top 10 Tips and Tricks for MoP Classic
- Portals to the Jade Forest: Both Stormwind and Orgrimmar have portals that teleport you directly to the Jade Forest in Pandaria. If you forget to set your Hearthstones to the new region, you can use these ports to let you travel quickly. The Stormwind portal is on the small islet directly north of the Dwarven District, while the one in Orgrimmar is in the middle of the Valley of Honor next to the Auction House.
- Bind to Account Two-Handed Weapons: There's an area in the Terrace of Ten Thunders that rewards you with an Item Level 404 Two-Handed Weapon. It's usable for Paladins, Warriors, and Death Knights, so if you're planning to run multiple alts in your WoW Classic Account, then you should pick it up.
- Good Starting Gear at Level 85: You can find an NPC in Pearlfin Village in the Valley of the Four Winds who can sell you good starting gear for Pandaria. Silkweaver Rui sells you complete sets of WoW Classic items that are appropriate for MoP. The gear he sells is all Item Level 372 and above, which is suitable for starting in the new expansion. Another NPC named Singegruff can be found in Dawn's Blossom, which also provides good gear for starting in Pandaria.
- Always Slay Rare Monsters: It's always a good idea to defeat and loot all Rare monsters that you encounter. Many of them have proper gear and consumables that you can use throughout the expansion. In particular, Krol the Blade in the Dread Waste drops a 300% EXP Potion that binds to your account. However, it's only usable for those below Level 84, so they're only helpful for your alt characters. Another is Sulik'shor in the Cavern of Endless Echoes area, who drops the Crystal of Insanity consumable, which provides you with a 500 increase to all stats for one hour.
- Grind your Level and Reps with Quests and Buffs: When entering raids, you should always accept the related quests because they provide decent gear, significant EXP, and reputation standing. In addition, you should always take the carousel in the Darkmoon Faire before grinding because they provide you with boosts to your EXP and Reputation gained. Treasures are also good sources of experience, so make sure to pick them up when they appear on your map.
- Level Up Your Gathering Professions: It's always a good idea to focus on your gathering professions at the start of the expansion. You get decent character EXP, gathering EXP, and other materials from doing these activities. In addition, many crafting professions will need an abundance of these ingredients because they'll also be leveling their characters.
- Tome of Four Winds Flight: You'll learn mount flying at level 90 after meeting a Trainer for this skill. However, you can also buy Tome of Four Winds Flight from any of them, which is a bind-to-account item. You can send these to your alts, and they can use them starting at level 85. They won't have to reach level 90 to start flying around Pandaria, which significantly increases their leveling efficiency.
- Use Elemental Force Enchant: There are several new enchantments in Pandaria. However, we want to highlight Elemental Force the most. It can easily one-shot most basic mobs and has a high activation rate, which is a huge thing when doing quests.
- Bypass the Serpent's Spine Wall Without a Flying Mount: At some point, you'll have to visit several locations that are barred to you by a vast, long wall. You'd usually use a flying mount to bypass this obstacle, but if you don't have one, then you use the adjacent stairs. These staircases are found inside the massive watchtowers in Shado-Pan Fallback.
- Engineer-exclusive NPCs: There are some NPCs that only Engineers can interact with. In the Shrine of Seven Stars in The Emperor's Step, there are two mechanical engineers assigned to each faction, and only characters in the engineering field can talk to them.
These are just some of the best tips and tricks for Mist of Pandaria Classic. You can still find others, such as guides for leveling up or even lists for the best add-ons for this expansion.
