Best Races for Each Monk Class Specialization in WoW Classic Mists of Pandaria

The release of Mists of Pandaria in WoW Classic has brought the Monk class into the game. If you want to play the Monk Class, choosing the right Race can benefit your future raid, PvP, and dungeon adventures. The Monk Class has three specializations, each with unique abilities. To help you out, here’s a guide on the best Races to use for each Monk Class Specialization.

Best Races for Each Monk Class Specialization

Here are the best races to use for each Monk Class Specialization. There are only three Monk Specializations in Mists of Pandaria, which are: Brewmaster, Mistweaver, and Windwalker.

Brewmaster Monks

The Brewmaster Monk boasts unmatched mobility, equipped with various utilities and tools tailored to every scenario. It’s a Tank that combines multiple types of defenses that can move across the battlefield quickly. There are a few Races that will stand out when paired with the Brewmaster Monk and provide insane performances on the battlefield.

Pandaren

Pandaren is the go-to Race when it comes to any of the Monk Specializations. They come with the Epicurean passive. The passive allows them to double their stats from their Well Fed buff. This means they can gain an additional 300 agility points by consuming the highest-quality food.

Aside from this passive, Pandarens also have the Bouncy and Inner Peace passive, which lessens fall damage and earn twice as much rested experience. These quality of life passives are sound for exploration and leveling. What makes Pandaren stand out the most is their Quaking Palm ability. It can incapacitate a target for 4 seconds. For a Brewmaster Monk to be a Tank that can stop opponents from attacking is crucial in PvP, Raids, and Dungeons.

Blood Elf

Blood Elves as Brewmaster Monks are primarily used for their Strength in PvE. Their Arcane Torrent ability, which can silence enemies within 8 yards, is excellent for taking on multiple opponents. It also generates one additional Chi on demand when used.

Night Elf

Night Elves as Brewmaster Monks are the popular choice. Thanks to their Quickness ability, it provides natural mitigation. They also have access to Shadowmeld, which allows them to flee from combat and cancel any abilities targeting them.

Mistweaver Monks

The Mistweaver Monks are healers who can effectively heal groups of players. They can also funnel healing into a single target with minimal setup. They can deal damage and switch to healing seamlessly. Any damage taken as a Mistweaver Monk won’t affect them, since they quickly heal themselves.

Pandaren

One of the versatile Races to choose for the Mistweaver Monk is Pandaren. With their Epicurean passive, they can increase the stats they gain from the Well Fed buff by eating food. Using Quaking Palm can incapacitate enemies when you need to heal your allies. Since Mistweaver Monks deal heavy damage but also heal, having the Spear Hand Strike ability can come in handy to prevent any spells from being cast.

Troll

Trolls are another race suitable for the Mistweaver Monk specialization. Combining the Berserker and Thunder Focus Tea abilities can empower the Uplift ability. Playing as Troll for the Mistweaver Monk Specialization allows you to boost any of your healing skills.

Gnome

Playing a Gnome for the Mistweaver Monk specialization allows the healing of your allies to be longer. With the Expansive Mind ability, it increases the longevity of the healing instead of its output. If you’re dealing with longer fights as a Mistweaver Monk, Gnomes are the better Race to choose for those encounters.

Windwalker Monk

Windwalker Monks focus on AOE damage and Cleave. They can stack their cleave and are one of the best for using spread cleave. Having insane AOE damage and mobility is useful for PvE, Raids, and Dungeons.

Pandaren

Pandaren playing as Windwalker Monks is the best play. It’s their valid class specialization. As mentioned, the Epicurean passive allows the Well Fed buff to double its stats as long as you eat high-quality food. Pairing Quaking Palm and the AOE attacks allows you to incapacitate enemies. You can avoid being attacked or killed by utilizing the racial passives Pandarens have in their arsenal.

Orc

Orcs are another great Race to play as a Windwalker Monk. Their Blood Fury ability increases attack and spell power, and if you pair it with the AOE attacks and cleave, the damage is tremendous. You can also utilize the Axe Specialization ability to gain a bonus when attacking using an Axe or Fist weapon.

Human

For players who want to PvP, humans as Windwalker Monks is a viable option. The use of Will to Survive allows for reducing any stun durations inflicted by the enemy and allowing your mobility to be less hindered. The only downside to this Race is that you’ll have to play Alliance.
