OSRS Basilisk Jaw for Sale

Though not an equipment item itself, the Basilisk Jaw is one of OSRS’s most coveted rare drops. It’s essential for crafting the untradeable Neitiznot faceguard, an excellent helm. With its very low drop rate, obtaining it through regular gameplay can be challenging. Fortunately, players can skip the RNG grind by purchasing the Basilisk Jaw from OSRS Items Weapon vendors.

The Basilisk Jaw is a tradeable skilling and combat attachment component in Old School RuneScape. Obtained as a rare drop from Basilisk Knights, combining it with a Helm of Neitiznot forges the Neitiznot Faceguard, the best-in-slot melee headgear in OSRS.

Item Statistics and Key Mechanical Highlights

  • Neitiznot Faceguard Upgrade: Combining the Basilisk Jaw with a Helm of Neitiznot creates the Neitiznot Faceguard, providing +6 Melee Strength, +3 Prayer, and stronger defensive bonuses than the base helmet without negative attack bonuses.
  • Slayer Task Drop Rate: Basilisk Knights, found in Jormungand's Prison and the Jethick Cave, drop the Basilisk Jaw. It's best to farm for the item on a Slayer task, as the drop rate is 1/1,000, compared to 1/5,000 when killed off-task.
  • Permanent Upgrade: Once created, the Neitiznot Faceguard does not degrade and requires no charges, repairs, or other upkeep.
  • Reversible Creation: Unlike other items, players can safely dismantle the Neitiznot Faceguard to recover the Basilisk Jaw and Helm of Neitiznot, allowing the components to be used separately again.
  • Requirements: Players must complete The Fremennik Exiles to create the Helm of Neitiznot. Equipping the resulting Faceguard requires 75 Defence.

OSRS Basilisk Jaw Detailed FAQs

How is the Basilisk Jaw obtained in OSRS?

Basilisk Knights in Jormungand's Prison drop the Basilisk Jaw. It drops at a rate of 1/1,000 when killed on a Slayer task and 1/5,000 when killed off-task.

How do players make the Neitiznot Faceguard using the Jaw?

Players simply use the Basilisk Jaw on a standard Helm of Neitiznot in their inventory. Keep in mind, though, that creating the Faceguard requires completion of The Fremennik Exiles quest.

How does the Neitiznot Faceguard compare to the Serpentine Helm?

The Neitiznot Faceguard provides higher offensive strength (+6 vs +5), a +3 Prayer bonus, and zero attack penalties or charge costs, making it the best choice for general melee combat. The Serpentine Helm is preferred mainly for poison immunity or venom application.

Can the Basilisk Jaw be retrieved if the Faceguard is dismantled?

Yes. Players can select the dismantle option on the Neitiznot Faceguard at any point to break it back down into the tradeable Basilisk Jaw and Helm of Neitiznot without losing either item.

Do you need a Mirror Shield or V's Shield to farm Basilisk Knights for the Jaw?

Yes. Fighting Basilisk Knights without equipping a Mirror Shield or V's Shield will cause your stats to rapidly drain down to zero.

FAQ

PlayerAuctions puts each player’s reputation and success rate front and center, so you can buy with confidence knowing your payment stays secure until delivery is confirmed.

  • Buyer places order and sends payment to PlayerAuctions
  • Payment is verified and protected by PlayerGuardian
  • Seller starts and completes delivery
  • Buyer confirms delivery and seller receives payment
  • Both parties leave feedback and rate the experience

Option 1: In-game, Face to Face Delivery

Sellers will select this method of delivery if they intend to meet your character in-game with one of their own characters. Usually, a seller will coordinate a time and location in-game to meet your character.

Tips:

  • Be sure to confirm the time to account for time zone differences.
  • Confirm which Server the delivery is to take place in case your game world has more than one.
  • Never, under any circumstances, return gold, items, etc. to the delivery character if ever asked. In the event the seller asks you to, please take a screenshot and report this to PlayerAuctions Customer Support.

Option 2: In-game Mailbox delivery.

Some sellers will select the option to deliver gold or items directly to an in-game mailbox. This option can be convenient for smaller orders because you do not need to coordinate time of delivery.

Low Prices: Prices set by other players or PowerSellers on PlayerAuctions are often significantly lower than the high markups you would find on retail sites or various third-party marketplaces, including platforms like eBay, where sellers offer in-game assets—sometimes at lower prices. There are also markets on Discord, but you need to be cautious, as scams are common in less secure spaces.

When buying from any marketplace, make sure to purchase from reliable sellers to avoid risks. If you're looking to buy now, explore trusted platforms where you can buy from vetted sellers for a secure and hassle-free experience.

Security: PlayerAuctions is quite simply one of the most secure places to buy and sell in-game assets.

To see how quickly the seller may deliver your order, refer to the seller's delivery guarantee period, which is their promise to complete delivery within a certain timeframe after your payment. Each seller sets their delivery guarantee period independent of PlayerAuctions. In the event that the seller is unable to complete the delivery within their guaranteed time, you may cancel the order without penalty for a hassle-free refund.

The overwhelming majority of transactions through our site occur successfully. As for the very exceptional cases, you can rest assured that they have been carefully considered by our systems and processes, and we are well prepared to handle them in the rare event that they do occur. Read more.
