This infamous quest has the most drastic difficulty curves in Old School RuneScape, going from very easy to requiring multiple subquest completions to finish the main quest. To clear Recipe For Disaster, you’ll need a ton of items and high skill levels to complete every subquest. Quest Steps
Start the quest by talking to the Cook in Lumbridge Castle after completing Cook’s Assistant. He'll ask you to bring him the ingredients that are needed to prepare for the feast leading to the main quest. You'll need to bring him: An eye of newt, a glass of greenman's ale, a rotten tomato, and a dirty blast (fruit blast + ashes).
Once you bring the requisite items, this will start the feast, which will cause 8 guests to be frozen in time.

To complete the quest you'll need to free each guest by cooking them a dish.

Freeing The Mountain Dwarf
Required items:
- 316 gold
- Bucket of milk
- Pot of flour
- Bowl of water
- 1 egg
- Ice gloves
Quest steps:
- Inspect the dwarf to begin
- Speak to the barmaid in the Rising Sun Inn in Falador.
- Pay 200 gold for the recipe for Asgoldian ale.
- Buy 6 Asgarnian ale, then put one coin in each ale.
- Take the tunnel under White Wolf Mountain and speak to Rohak.
- Give Rohak all the Asgoldian ales to get him drunk.
- Give Rohak the milk, flour, egg, and water.
- Equip the ice gloves, then pick up the rock cake.
- Return to the Mountain Dwarf and give him the rock cake to complete this step.

Freeing the Goblin Generals
Required items:
- Bread
- Orange
- Knife
- Any dye that is not red yellow, orange, or pink
- Spice or Gnome spice
- Bucket of water
- Charcoal
Quest steps:
- Inspect the generals to begin
- Speak to Mudknuckles in the Goblin Village.
- Give him charcoal.
- Mudknuckles will ask you to make food for the village generals.
- Create a dyed orange using dye on orange slices
- Create spicy maggots by using spice on fishing bait
- Create soggy bread by using a bucket of water on the bread.
- Go to Mudknuckles with the food to receive Slop of compromise.
- Return to the frozen goblin generals and give them the Slop to finish this step.

Freeing Pirate Pete
Required items:
- Pestle and mortar
- Raw cod
- Knife
- 2 Bread
- Fishbowl
- Needle
- 3 bronze wire
Quest steps:
- Inspect Pirate Pete to begin
- Speak to the cook and he'll tell you the ingredients you need.
- Ask about all the ingredients.
- Go to Port Khazard and speak to Murphy.
- Use the pestle and mortar on raw cod to create Ground cod
- Use the knife on the bread to create breadcrumbs.
- Speak to Murphy again and bring him a fishbowl to create a diving apparatus.
- Make sure your weight is under 27 kilograms, then ask Murphy to go diving
- While diving, look for tall plants to obtain kelp. Get 3 kelp.
- Look for a crab pen, then speak to Nung, who will ask for 5 mudskipper hides.
- Go to the mudskipper cave and pick up 5 rocks to walk on the sea floor.
- Kill 5 mudskippers and take their hides.
- Return to Nung with the hides, needle, and 3 bronze wires to enter the crab pen.
- Kill 3 crabs and collect their meat.
- Use the pestle and mortar on the crab meat to make ground crab.
- Use the pestle and mortar on the kelp to make ground kelp
- Return to the Cook with the ground crab meat, ground kelp, ground cod, and breadcrumbs. Then, cook with all the ingredients to make a fishcake.
- Give Pirate Pete the fishcake to complete this step.

Freeing the Lumbridge Guide
Required items:
- Bucket of milk
- Egg
- Pot of flour
- Cake tin
Quest steps:
- Inspect the Lumbridge Guide to begin
- Go to the Wizard’s Tower and speak to Wizard Traiborn
- Have Traiborn enchant your egg by answering a quiz of identifying 3 NPCs
- Take the next quiz answering RuneScape trivia to enchant your milk
- Get the flour enchanted last by completing a memory test. Take a picture of the item groups for an easier time.
- Bring the enchanted ingredients to the cooking range in Lumbridge Castle, put them in the cake tin, and bake them to make the required cake.
- Give the enchanted cake to the Lumbridge Guide to finish this step.

Freeing Evil Dave
Required items:
- Wily cat
- 9 stew
Quest steps:
- Inspect Evil Dave to begin.
- Go to Evil Dave’s mother’s house in Edgeville.
- Speak to Doris and ask where Evil Dave is.
- Go to the basement and speak to Evil Dave.
- Ask him what he ate and tell him “You’ve got to tell me because the magic requires it!”
- Go back upstairs and speak to Doris. Ask her where to get the spices.
- Go downstairs and drop your pet cat. Command your cat to kill the hellrats, which will drop either red, yellow, orange, or brown spice. Make sure you have at least 6 of each spice.
- Use a spice on a stew to create a spicy stew.
- First, you'll need to test the number of spice doses added to a stew by giving it to Evil Dave and asking for his comment. Start with one dose of any colored spice to him. If he says “None of them are right,” add two doses to the next stew. If he says “One of the spices is correct, the rest are incorrect,” you have the right number of spice dosages. (The goal is to create a stew that contains all four spices, with each spice having a random dosage amount between 1 to 3)
- Once you have the correct spicy stew, Evil Dave will comment that it is the right one. Exhaust all his dialogue, then return to Lumbridge Castle.
- Give the frozen Evil Dave the correct spicy stew to complete this quest.

Freeing Skrach Uglogwee
Required item:
- Axe
- Raw chompy
- Iron spit
- Logs
- Tinderbox
- Pickaxe
- Ogre bellows
- Ball of wool
- Ogre bow
- Ogre arrows
Quest steps:
- Inspect Skrach Uglogwee to begin.
- Go to the Feldip Hills and speak to Rantz. He'll tell you to go to Karamja, but you must meet him first.
- Go to Rantz’s cave and speak to him more. He'll kick down a tree and ask you to make a boat. Use the axe on the log twice to make one.
- Rantz will fire an arrow into a tree in Karamja. Go to the tree with the arrow and start a fire in front of it. The tree is located northwest of Tai Bwo Wannai village.
- Use an iron spit on the raw chompy, then cook it on the fire with the spit.
- If done right, the boat will come back and you can return to Rantz for the next step.
- Rantz will ask you to get a balloon toad as bait to lure the Jubbly bird.
- First, use the ogre bellows to get swamp gas, then obtain some toads.
- Use the bellows filled with gas on the toads to make bloated toads.
- Mine some rocks nearby that are proportionate to the number of toads you have.
- Fill your bellows with more swamp gas. Then, use it on the bloated toads while having a ball of wool and rocks in your inventory to make balloon toads.
- Drop the balloon toads south of Rantz’s cave and wait for the Jubbly bird.
- When the Jubbly bird appears, use the ogre bow to kill it and take its meat.
- Cook the Jubbly bird meat on Rantz’s ogre spit near his cave.
- Return to Skrach Uglogwee in Lumbridge Caste and give him the cooked Jubbly bird to complete this step.

Freeing Sir Amik Varze
Required items:
- Bucket of milk
- Pot of cream
- Pot of cornflour (Can be made by grinding sweetcorn in a windmill)
- Vanilla pod (Can be found in Kharazi Jungle, southwest of the island.)
- Dramen staff or Lunar staff
- Dramen branch
- Pestle and mortar
- Ice gloves
- Raw chicken
- Anti-dragon shield and high-level combat gear
Quest steps:
- Inspect Sir Amik Varze to begin.
- Ask the Cook for the recipe for brulee supreme. This unlocks a couple of cooking steps.
- Use a bucket of milk on a pot of cream for the milky mixture.
- Add a pot of cornflour to the milky mixture.
- Add a vanilla pod in the cornflour mixture.
- Go to the Entrana Dungeon and retrieve a Dramen branch from the Dramen tree by killing a zombie, grabbing a bronze axe from its loot, and cutting the tree.
- Grind the branch with a pestle and mortar to make cinnamon
- Go to the Wise Old Man in Draynor Village and ask him about the Evil Chicken.
- Bring your best combat gear, as you'll need to fight the Evil Chicken and a black dragon.
- Head to Zanaris and interact with the Chicken Shrine using a raw chicken to start the fight.
- Kill the Evil Chicken, which will drop its egg.
- Add the egg to the brulee, along with the cinnamon you made earlier.
- Kill a black dragon in the lair, then take the dragon token from its corpse.
- Go to Zanaris or Lumbrridge with the brulee, put on your ice gloves, and interact with the dragon token to summon K’klik.
- Ask K’klik to flambé your brulee.
- Return to Sir Amik Varze with the newly flambé’d brulee to finish this step.

Freeing King Awowogei
Required items:
- M'speak amulet
- Karamjan monkey greegree
- Gorilla, Ninja monkey, and Zombie monkey greegree
- Banana
- Monkey nuts
- Rope
- Knife
- Pestle and mortar
- Antipoison potions
- Your best HP restoring food
Quest steps:
- Inspect King Awowogei to begin.
- Go to Ape Atoll with a M’speak amulet, a monkey greegree, antipoison potions, and food ready.
- Go to King Awowogei’s palace and speak to him about his favorite dish
- Head to the Temple of Marimbo and speak to the three monkeys in the temple.
- The recipe for King Awowogei’s dish is the corpse of a big snake stuffed with banana slices and monkey nut paste. Present the banana and monkey nut to the monkeys, which unlocks the next few steps for this quest.
- Go to Crash Island and locate a hole in the ground east of the island.
- Enter the hole and kill a Big Snake for its corpse. Get extra corpses in case you burn the first dish.
- Next, return to Ape Atoll and head into the city.
- Use a gorilla greegree and go to the red banana tree northwest of the island. Use the rope on the banana tree to obtain a red banana.
- Slice the red banana with a knife to get red banana slices. Bring extra in case you burn the food.
- For the tchiki nuts paste, you will need to use a ninja greegree.
- Do the Agility course south of town until you reach a broken hut with a hole in the ground. Go down the hole, and you should see a tchiki nut bush where you can interact with it to get tchiki cuts. Gather multiple nuts in case you burn the food. Use the pestle and mortar with the nut to create nut paste.
- Once you have everything, stuff the snake with the sliced red bananas and tchiki nut paste.
- To cook the snake, equip a zombie monkey greegree and go to the trapdoor within the Temple of Marimbo. Underground, there is a crack in the wall that you can enter to the left of the bamboo ramp.
- Go through the lava floor with your zombie monkey form and place the stuffed snake on the altar-like rock in the room.
- Return to King Awowogei with the cooked stuffed snake (while having a M’speak amulet on) to complete the last step.

Defeat the Culinaromancer
All that is left to do is to slay the Culinaromancer, but this will be a tough fight since you'll have to fight multiple bosses before taking him on. These items will help you survive this encounter:
- Ice gloves
- Restore potions
- Your best melee, magic, and ranged gear.
- Your best healing food
While in the Cuilnaromancer’s dimension, you must defeat 5 bosses before facing him. Here are all the bosses you can expect and a brief strategy of how to defeat them.
Agrith-Na-Na
- The simplest boss of the gauntlet with no gimmicks at level 146.
- Has no gimmick and can be fought normally.
Flambeed
- Fought at level 149
- Requires you to wear the ice gloves, as fighting him without one causes you to unequip your weapon.
Karamel
- While at level 136, Karamel can cast magic that lowers all your stats.
- Best fought in melee range, as she can only attack with standard ranged attacks while engaged in melee.
Dessourt
- Can be fought at level 121 and has a strong melee and magic attack.
- Very weak to stab attacks and is best fought in melee range.
Gelatinnoth Mother
- One of the most complex bosses in this gauntlet, as she can switch damage resistances based on her color.
- Bring magic and ranged gear.
- She'll change color every once in a while, which dictates her weaknesses
- White: Weak to Air damage
- Blue: Weak to Water damage
- Orange: Weak to melee damage
- Brown: Weak to Earth damage
- Red: Weak to Fire damage
- Green: Weak to ranged damage
Culinaromancer
- Level 75 and has no defenses, but deals massive magic damage.
- Focus on dealing as much damage to him as possible instead of increasing your magic defense.

Quest Rewards
This quest gives you full access to the Culinaromancer Chest, which contains a complete list of cooking utensils and the highly valuable Barrows gloves, which grant high attack bonuses for Melee, Magic, and Ranged.
