Last Epoch: Best Warlock Builds

last epoch warlock

The Warlock is a powerful mid-ranged class in Last Epoch that focuses on dealing damage over time and using curses. Doing continuous Necrotic damage, Poison damage, and draining enemies’ blood is the name of the game here. To make an optimal build for the Mastery, you must combine attacks that work together and utilize the same damage type to take full advantage of your passive skills.

Last Epoch isn’t as complicated as Path of Exile, but there’s still much to weave together—from passive skills to active skill point distribution. In this guide, we’ll break down the best builds you can do for your Warlock.

Warlock Profane Veil Last Epoch Build

The Warlock Profane Veil build lets you consume your Minions and absorb their life force as your own, leaving volatile zombies in your wake. The goal is to have a never-ending supply of Minions that’ll be used to generate Wards. At the same time, the explosions can deal a ton of AoE damage. Sinity, an active member of the ARPG community, created this build.

Active Skills for the Warlock Profrane Veil Build

This build’s bread and butter are Chthonic Fissure and Profane Veil. Chthonic Fissure will be your main source of personal damage, which will scale with Torment and the Unique Staff, Wheel of Torment. Meanwhile, Profane Veil is used as a Ward generator to create Minions for us. It will summon volatile zombies that will explode near enemies.

By casting Sacrifice on nearby Minions and summoning Skeleton Vanguards whenever they die, you can create more Minions to absorb through Profane Veil. This creates a never-ending Minion loop for you to deal damage and keep yourself healthy.

Chthonic Fissure

Chthonic Fissure will mainly deal damage through Torment, which you’ll inflict onto targets hit by the Spirits from Fissure. The damage from Torment can be scaled through different interactions, including the Unique Staff—the Wheel of Torment—you’re using. It’s best to cast Cththonic Fissure manually and frequently when clearing maps. However, for boss fights, you can auto-cast it by using Soul Feast.

Profane Veil

The Profane Veil skill will consume Minions and generate volatile zombies, creating an endless cycle of explosions from the zombies and casts of Sacrifice. When the zombies die, they’ll immediately create Skeleton Vanguards, who’ll then get consumed on your next cast of Profane Veil. This is what makes the rotational loop for your build.

Summon Volatile Zombie

The Summon Volatile Zombie is what glues everything together. This skill lets you have a constant supply of Necrotic Ghouls by your side, dealing damage and creating Minions for you to absorb for Ward.

Summon Skeleton

Summon Skeleton replenishes your Mana while also serving as a source of Ward through Profane Veil. At first, you’ll need to summon your skeletons manually and consume them to start generating zombies. But once you have the Volatile Zombies Summon On Pation Use Experimental Affix, it can be done automatically. However, you can still self-summon them periodically to ensure that your Minion count stays above three to get the bonus Sacrifice damage and the Spell Damage buff to be applied via Memory Catcher.

Sacrifice

You don’t have to proc Sacrifice manually for this build. Instead, you’ll rely on your volatile zombies to automate it whenever they die. Aside from dealing decent damage, Sacrifice also boosts your DoT (damage over time). It’s primarily used to increase your damage from Torment and create a consistent source of Bleed and Ignite.

Torment Warlock Build

The Torment Warlock build uses Chthonic Fissure to release Spirits that inflict Torment upon enemies—a powerful Curse that deals DoT. While Torment will be your main source of damage, you can also take advantage of multiple Necrotic skills. This build doesn’t require any Uniques to shine, which is a sign of relief for many players who don’t have time to farm them.

Overall, the Torment Warlock can cruise through all of Last Epoch’s content—even in Hardcore mode. This is for you if you want a Necrotic-based Warlock with amazing AoE skills to survive the harshest encounters.

Active Skills for the Torment Warlock Build

Chthonic Fissure

Chthonic Fissure releases Spirits that’ll apply Torment; this will be your primary source of damage. Adding Twisted Waves can stack Necrotic resistance for a massive damage multiplier. Your Spirits can also get powerful ailments thanks to Damned Waters and Severed Wards.

Spirit Plague

Since Spirit Plague is a Curse, it counts toward the ‘per Curse on target’ bonuses to which the Warlock has access. You can get big damage multipliers by chucking in Rotten to the Core and Concentrated Rot, while Plague of Eyes deals a lot of flat damage. We recommend grabbing Exsanguination to apply Ignites.

Wandering Spirits

When combined with Profane Veil, Wandering Spirits does a lot of damage on a cooldown. Make sure to grab False Damage and Reap the Damned for those juicy damage multipliers. Then, spec into Familiar Souls to reveal the Spirits in a smaller radius, which increases single-target damage.

Transplant

Transplant will be your movement skill for this build since it gives you tons of buffs and utility. Thanks to the Acolyte’s Fervor node, you can use this skill to grant yourself Haste and Frenzy buffs.

Profane Veil

Profane Veil is a channeled skill that provides excellent defensive and offensive buffs. You can dodge every hit you take using this as long as it is specced into Spirit Plate. Don’t forget to add Scorn since it also grants a global damage multiplier.
