The new Vote Snatchers subfaction in Helldivers 2 has made its way out of the Void and brought in two new enemies: Wretches and Crushers. Wretches are a new chaff unit that can easily swarm you and your team, while Crushers can one-shot any Helldivers while regenerating any damage they take. This guide will show you the absolute best loadout to bring against the Vote Snatcher faction.
Anti-Crusher Weapons and Strats
Crushers have one glaring weakspot: the head. However, their heads are covered by a heavy armor helmet that requires a heavy pen weapon to remove. One of the most reliable support weapons to bring against them will be the following:
- Laser Cannon
- The Laser Cannon has heavy armor penetration and can easily remove Crusher helmets without needing ammo. Paired with its ease of use, this support weapon may be the best Crusher killer.
- Anti-Material Rifle
- The AMR has the fastest breakpoint of three shots. Shooting the helmet off only requires two shots and one shot at its exposed head to kill it. It will require a bit of aiming on your end, but it can put down Crushers fast if you can use it well.
- Bolt Pistol / Senator
- Both pistols have heavy penetration and can easily remove Crusher helmets in a pinch. If you prefer to use chaff-clear support weapons like the Stalwart or Flamethrower, they are very useful.
Wretch Weapons and Strats
Wretches are lightly armored, so every weapon in the game can reliably kill them. They count as a swarm enemy, so any weapon that specializes in chaff clear will be the best weapon to counter them.
They have a specific behavior: shooting only their head will cause them to go berserk, like a headless Alpha Commander. For weak points, you must shoot their limbs off to put them down for good. Some standouts include:
- LAS-16 Trident
- This energy shotgun uses a heatsink, meaning it has near-infinite ammo and shoots a spread of six lasers per shot. This makes it the most ammo-efficient way to kill hordes of Wretches without reloading.
- Guard Dog Rover
- If you prefer passively killing Wretches without diverting your attention, the Guard Dog Rover is the best backpack Stratagem to take when using a support weapon, and you have a free backpack slot.
- Flamethrower / Torcher
- Depending on whether you need a support weapon or primary to control space, these two weapons are great for crowd-controlling hordes of Wretches, especially with the Metropolis map that gives you plenty of chokepoints to utilize.
