The Red Ant and Orb Weaver buggies can be obtained by grabbing their respective eggs and incubating them with a crafted Hatchery. The Hatchery itself requires story progression to unlock, which is why this guide will show you how you can get the first two Buggy mounts.
Unlocking The Hatchery
Your main story quest will eventually lead you to finding the Snackbar TURBO Optical Disk, located in the Ant Cave, on the body of a dead researcher. Once you have the disk, return to the Ranger Station and place the disk in the Science Shop. You can now purchase the Hatchery for 500 Raw Science.
Obtain A Red Soldier Ant Egg
You can get an egg during the Egg Hunt quest, inside the Hatchery Anthill. Note that for this quest, the eggs you find inside the lab will not count. Instead, you must find the eggs within the tunnels, lit by floodlights. Here are the directions to the egg hatchery:
- Once you’re inside, follow the red, blue and white wires
- At the intersection, follow the black wire until you reach some consoles
- Take the Taming Program Update and go right until you reach the Ominent lab bulkhead
- Take the middle door in the lab and follow more red, blue, and white wires.
- At the end of the path is a lab room. Go right to leave the lab and follow the last set of wires.
