The Coriolis storms of Arrakis in Dune: Awakening are the game’s method of wiping the map clean and resetting all resource nodes, while simultaneously destroying any base that comes into contact with them. If you’re prepared, there is a way to survive the Coriolis storms while keeping your base intact. Here’s how you can avoid or endure the storm.
Relocating Your Base
If you’re in the early game and you don’t have a base shield active, you'll need to relocate your base somewhere away from the Coriolis storm. Before the storm arrives, save your base set-up as a blueprint, then dismantle everything. Once the storm passes, you can quickly rebuild using the blueprint system so you don’t have to manually rebuild everything again.
The Hagga Basin is by far the safest place in the game since it is exclusively PvE, and Coriolis storms do not appear in this region.
Activating Base Shields
If you do have a shield active in your base, this will protect you from incoming storms. However, bases built in the Deep Desert will be destroyed regardless of whether a shield is active due to the Shifting Sands weekly event.
Create A Schedule
Coriolis storms occur at a set time, meaning that you can predict when one will arrive and plan. This will save you the hassle of trying to escape the storm and set up some alternative safe outposts.
Use Ornithopters
Ornithopters are by far the best vehicles you can use in Dune Awakening. These will get you to any region safely without drawing sandworm attention or player ambushes in the Deep Desert. Investing in one will greatly aid you once a Coriolis storm arrives.
