After many complaints from the Destiny community about the extremely long grind to reach Power 550, Bungie has decided to change up the way players earn Power with improved Pinnacle drops, the removal of Power caps in activities, and the discontinuation of the Power reset for Renegades. Here are all the upcoming changes to the leveling process. Of course, Destiny 2 Boosting Services are always available for those who prefer to leave the grinding to the pros."
Increased Powerful Drops
Whenever you complete a Solo Ops, Fireteam Ops, or Pinnacle Ops, you will receive an improved amount of Powerful gear to expedite the Power climb. Not only that, the bonus reward engram you get for reaching a high rank will share the same Power as the rewards in the end chest.
Crucible Ops and The Desert Perpetual raid will be updated to give better rewards in a later patch.
Power Delta Changes
Upon picking a difficulty, power adjustment will no longer be in effect. Players are instead capped in effective Power. Each difficulty will have the following caps:
- Normal: 0 Power
- Advanced: -10 Power
- Expert: -15 Power
- Master: -20 Power
- Grandmaster: -25 Power
- Ultimate: -30 Power
Difficulty tiers will also no longer be automatically selected until they meet the appropriate Power levels.
Power Catch-Up System
Normal, Advanced, and Expert Quickplay will be removed, but will be changed to provide activities that give increased Power rewards while making matchmaking easier. These activities will provide a bonus catch-up reward to make reaching 400 Power easier.
