The astounding success of WARDOGS Season 1 opened the door to future content and further improvements to the game. BULKHEAD recently released a short teaser trailer of what's to come in WARDOGS Season 2. Here is everything that we know so far.
WARDOGS Season 2 Release Date and Details
Season 2 arrives on October 15, 2026, and brings several changes to the meta and the game overall. It also aims to address community complaints about the helicopter-spam meta and the lack of weapons and options to counter it.
What's in store for Season 2
The trailer offered a short but insightful glimpse of what's to come for WARDOGS Season 2. Weather will be added in the coming season, as shown by the rain in the trailer. Changes to map conditions can severely affect player performance. Lower visibility and more ambient noise can make gunfights significantly more engaging. The developers have also clarified that the weather system isn't dynamic; it's an imposed condition on certain maps.
Beyond weather, fire seems to be getting a major upgrade in the coming season. During the beta and initial release of WARDOGS, fire didn't linger or have any real effect on foliage. In the trailer, one of the houses has a blaze, which could mean future incendiary grenades or more realistic fuel-burning effects.
Finally, the community has long speculated about adding a brand-new armored vehicle meant to counter the helicopter meta. It is modeled after an older tracked anti-air vehicle similar to the Gepard. It has 4 massive rapid-firing cannons to take down any pesky helicopter. However, this is still community speculation.
WARDOGS Season 2 Wipe Explained
BULKHEAD has stated multiple times that seasonal wipes are coming. This lets players who can't play as much still enjoy the game without being completely pushed out by players who have time to grind. It also opens the door to more additions and better balancing opportunities.
What will be wiped and what will be kept?
Wiping essentially resets your character back to level 1. This means players will have to level their classes again and pay the unlock fee to use level-gated equipment. Cash left in the player's inventory will be converted into Gold Bars where possible.
Why was Season 1 so Short?
Season 1 will last only 1 month for balancing. Think of it as an extended beta, with major fixes and balancing changes coming after.
