1-99 Divination Guide

RS3 Divination

Divination is a members-only skill that you can train in RuneScape 3, and can be quite a grind. The skill involves gathering divine energy and making a few items such as portents, divine locations, or signs. Before you can begin training the skill, you must speak to Orla Fairweather, located south of Draynor Village jail. Check here for more Runescape skilling guides.

The skill involves harvesting energy and memories from wisps and depositing them in rifts to claim divination XP. You can also use the energy to create divination-specific items. Whenever you harvest springs, you’ll have a chance to obtain enriched memories that give more experience than the regular ones. Whenever you deposit the memories into the rift, you have three options: to convert them into energy, which will not award any XP, to convert them into XP, or to deposit both the memories and the energy to gain even more XP.

💥 Useful Boots

If you want to gain even more XP while training divination, consider using the following. Use the wise perk to obtain anywhere in between 1 and 3 percent XP boost, the wisdom aura for 2,5 XP boost, Torstol incense sticks for up to 2 percent boost, the clan avatar XP boost for up to 6 percent more XP, pulse or cinder cores for up to 10 percent more XP, raf scroll for 10 percent boost.

💫 Memorial of Guthix

The Memorial of Guthix can also help you gain more XP per hour. This is because you can, for example, increase the duration of the springs with the ethereal connection perk or increase the efficiency of chronicles when empowering a rift with the abyssal transit perk. The wisp herder perk will give you a slight chance to spawn more wisps while converting memories.

✨World 79

Besides this, make sure that every time you train this skill, you’re using World 79 since there are a few social boosts that you’ll get from training together with other players. For example, each additional player up to the limit of 5 will add another 15 seconds to the duration of any spring. Even more, there’s a memory overflown buff which will give you more energy and more XP. You can get this buff by empowering the energy rift using chronicle fragments.

🧙 Diviner’s Outfit

The diviner’s outfit is an XP-boosting outfit that you can obtain via the Guthixian caches, and wearing the full set will give you an extra 6 percent XP boost for your divination skill.

👑 Elder Divination Outfits

This is the upgraded version; you can make it through the invention skill. It will give you an increased chance to get more memories and divine energy, as well as the chance to harvest more chronicles.

🏰 Boons

You can create boons with energy and use them for extra XP, as they will give you a permanent 10 percent boost on a specific location for a particular type of energy. You should prioritize making boons as soon as you can.

✴️ Divination Urns

You can fill them with energy and get extra XP when you fill them, and you can automatically teleport them once filled.

🧭 Quests

After level 40 divination, there are a few quests that you can do in order to gain some divination XP which will give you a total of 790 k divination XP:

One of a Kind at 40 Divination Hero's Welcome at 60 Divination Back to the Freezer at 50 Divination Azzanadra's Quest at 70 Divination Daughter of Chaos at 40 Divination Twilight of the Gods at 80 Divination The Light Within at 80 Divination Fate of the Gods at 75 Divination Children of Mah at 80 Divination Mahjarrat Memories (miniquest) at 60 Divination

⏫ Most Efficient Ways to Level Up Divination

1️⃣ to 🔟

To avoid going to the wilderness, start by doing pale energy at level 1 divination up to level 10 at any location.

🔟 to 2️⃣0️⃣

From level 10 to 20, the best non-wilderness alternative is flickering wisps, and they will give you around 8k XP per hour, double the amount you'd get from the pale ones. You can find them near Falador.

2️⃣0️⃣ to 3️⃣0️⃣

Once you reach level 20, head east of Varrock and do bright wisps until level 30. They will give you around 12k XP per hour.

3️⃣0️⃣ to 4️⃣0️⃣

From level 30 to 40, do glowing wisps south of the seers’ village for around 15k XP per hour without boosts.

4️⃣0️⃣ to 5️⃣0️⃣

After level 40, you should be efficient in the Guthixian cache. However, if you want to avoid training via the minigame, head to the Fremennik Provence and do sparkling wisps until level 50. You'll get around 20k XP per hour.

5️⃣0️⃣ to 6️⃣0️⃣

At level 50, go to Karamja and do gleaming wisps, where you can obtain around 25k XP per hour.

6️⃣0️⃣ to 7️⃣0️⃣

From levels 60 to 65, do vibrant wisps next to the archaeological dig site. From 65 to 70, you should be doing the empty throne room after you do the dig site quest. If you want to avoid doing the quest, stay at the archaeological dig site until level 70 or use the Guthixian cache to level.

The empty throne room is another minigame, and this one is semi-afk. You will get around 1 minute of AFK time, which is best done between levels 65 and 70.

7️⃣0️⃣ to 9️⃣5️⃣

At level 70, start doing the Hall of Memories, a divination-specific activity under the memorial of Guthix. It is best to do this with a group, and there's a chat for this specific activity you should join. This can be a very click-intensive method.

9️⃣5️⃣ to 9️⃣9️⃣/1️⃣2️⃣0️⃣

Once you reach level 95, you can head to the poison swamps and do incandescent wisps.

Whatever path to 99 divination you choose, you should always have as many boosts as possible, at least
