Path of Exile 2: Trading System and Trade Site Guide

Path of Exile 2 has plenty of loot, but you can’t always rely on RNG to bless you with powerful weapons and items. Because of that, PoE 2 has a trading system where players can make a living. Players can trade with each other to get what they need. Here’s an in-depth guide on PoE 2’s Trading System and Trade Site.

PoE 2 Trading System

In PoE 2, you can trade 2 ways with someone: with a player near you or through direct messages. Here’s how you can trade with players.

Nearby Trade

To trade with a player nearby, you first need to right-click their avatar and select Trade. The system only works if both players are simultaneously in the same town or location. You don’t need to be in the same party for trades to go through.

Direct Message Trade

The second trade method is via direct messages such as Whispers or Global Chat. You need to right-click their name in the chat and select Invite to Party. Once they accept, you can teleport to their location by clicking the blue circle on their avatar. Once teleported, you can now right-click on their character and select Trade. The second trading method is almost the same as the first but with extra steps at the start.

PoE 2 Trade Site

Like its predecessor, PoE 2 has a Trading Site you can access through its official site. Players can use the site to buy weapons and gear from other players. Here’s how you can buy gear at the Trade Site.

  1. Use the filter to look for the item you want.
  2. Click on Copy Whisper, and an autogenerated message will appear, and the seller’s handle will be copied.
  3. Paste the message into the in-game chat, and a whisper will be sent to the seller.
  4. Right-click on the seller’s name and select Invite to Party.
  5. Once you’re at a party, right-click their avatar and select Visit Hideout or teleport to their location.
  6. Right-click their avatar and select Trade.
  7. Deposit the agreed price in your section and hover over the items they put in their section to check them.
  8. Click Accept, and the trade is complete.

Players can only trade gear and weapons with each other. Gold can’t be traded; players can only trade for Gold using the NPCs scattered in towns.
