Wyrm Farming Guide
Wyrms are one of the primary Slayer tasks you can take upon reaching level 62 and are a good source of Slayer XP due to their high health. However, you might be wondering if camping the Wyrms in the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon is profitable or if it can help in leveling other combat skills. Here is what you need to know for farming Wyrms.
Pros and Cons of Wyrm Farming
One of the biggest benefits of farming Wyrms is the 120 hitpoints they have, as Slayer XP scales on enemy HP. Wyrm bones are also a guaranteed drop upon killing them, which provides an excellent source of Prayer XP. They are the only monsters capable of dropping items like the Dragon sword and Dragon harpoon. Since Wyrms can drop Adamant and Rune gear, you can use High Alchemy to turn drops into more Gold.
However, at high combat levels, the XP per kill and profit rate from Wyrms becomes less attractive, especially compared to higher-tier monsters. Lastly, you can’t bring in the dwarf multicannon or burst them (no multi-combat), which slows your kill rate.
🐉Note: If your Range and Slayer levels are around 60 to 70, Wyrm farming can be a good training ground, but once you reach past level 90, this method will have far fewer returns.
Wyrm Combat Guide and Stats
Wyrms primarily attack with Melee and Magic, but will attack exclusively with Magic damage if you hit them from afar. Therefore, using Ranged equipment to kill Wyrms is the safest and most consistent method, as you can simply leave on the Protect from Magic prayer while farming.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Hitpoints | 120 |
| Attack | 85 |
| Strength | 60 |
| Defense | 80 |
| Magic | 80 |
| Ranged | 80 |
🐉Note: You can set up a safespot against Wyrms by attacking one while it's on the eastern side of the room, then running into the northern corridor quickly to leave its wander range.
