Once Human is a free-to-play multiplayer survival game by Starry Studios set in a post-apocalyptic world. Because of its vast map, it’s necessary to have some form of fast travel, right? Fortunately, this system is implemented in Once Human through the Teleportation Tower. In this article, we’ll look at the general overview of Teleportation Towers in Once Human including how to unlock them, where to find them, and the purpose of this landmark.
What is a Teleportation Tower?
A Teleportation Tower is an essential landmark in Once Human. It allows players to traverse through the entire world without the need to explore. This is Once Human’s implementation of the “fast travel” mechanic prevalent in role-playing games. As such, there are conditions that need to be fulfilled in order to access this feature.
Unlocking Teleportation Feature in Once Human
To unlock teleportation in Once Human, you must first complete one of the main tutorials, Eve of Evolution. This may take at least an hour of game time, so you better dedicate some time to complete this. Then, the following conditions must be met:
- Complete the tutorial on crafting items
- Craft your first weapon: the crossbow
- Defeat the Siren attacking Mitsuko’s base
- Continue the story
- Accept the task that requires you to gather materials at a nearby ruin
- Talk to Mary who will give you a schematic for your first gun
After this step, Mary will tell you to go back to your base. From here, you can access the teleport feature by pressing F (default action button). When you come close to a Teleportation Tower, you can either press F or G. Pressing G will prompt you to change worlds (servers).
Limitations of Using Teleport
Since your first instance of using the teleport is to your base, there are limitations to using this feature.
- You can only teleport either to your base or to a Teleportation Tower.
- Teleport consumes energy. The farther you want to teleport, the more energy you’ll
- Teleport has a ten minute
- Teleporting to your base can be done anywhere.
Locating Teleportation Towers in Once Human
Teleportation Towers can be found near settlements and areas where bosses are likely to appear. Don’t confuse Teleportation Towers and Rift Anchors, though. Generally, a Teleportation Tower and Rift Anchor are two different things but have the same purpose, and they can be found very close to each other or in the same vicinity. Here is a list of where to find Teleportation Towers in Once Human. This is by no means complete, but it gives you a general idea of where to fast travel in the game.
- Deadsville
- Securement Silo Alpha
- Gaia Cliff Monolith Danger Zone
- High Bank
- Greywater Camp
- Mirage Monolith Danger Zone
- Throughville
- Sunbury Middle School
- Dayton Wetlands
What are the Purposes of Teleportation Towers?
Aside from fast travel, Teleportation Towers serve as the main “bridge” between servers. Which means, if you have a friend you want to play with, you can join their server by using a Teleportation Tower. This implementation is pretty neat since most games would require a soft reset by going to the title screen and selecting a different server.
In line with this feature, you can “reset” your chances of getting items that were previously taken by other players by changing servers. This comes in handy when you’re on the lookout for the highly coveted Extradimensional Cat Deviant, or any of the other Deviants in the game.
