Spool Fragments help players increase their maximum Silk meter, which lets them use more abilities. These items are scattered throughout Pharloom in different biomes. This guide will help players locate all 18 Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
All 18 Spool Fragments Location
This list features all 18 Spool Fragment Locations, starting from the lowest biomes and progressing to the top, so that we will begin with the ones in the Deep Docks. It should be noted that some of the areas might not be accessible right away because you’ll have to defeat some bosses or finish some quests before they become available. Here are the locations of all 18 Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Spool Fragment #1 (Deep Docks)
- How to Get It: You can find the first Spool Fragment in one of the subsections at the mid-level area of the Deep Docks. After you go up from the Abyss, take the first right, and then head instead of going straight to the right side. Enter the first right entrance you see on the right side of the wall.
Spool Fragment #2 (Deep Docks)
- How to Get It: You can find this one on the right-most part of the Deep Docks. Before the entrance to the Far Fields Biome on the right-most side, drop down and head right.
Spool Fragment #3 (Weavenest Atla)
- How to Get It: After entering the Biome from the Moss Grotto, drop down the ledge and stick to the left side of the wall. Enter the first left that you see that isn’t on the ground level. Keep heading straight until you reach the dead-end of that corridor.
Spool Fragment #4 (Moss Grotto)
- How to Get It: There are several entrances to the Moss Grotto, but for this Spool Fragment, we advise you to enter through the Mosshome subsection. At the bottom level of this area, there is a drop that allows you to enter an area connecting Mosshome to Bone Bottom. If you’re coming in from the Bone Bottom entrance, then it’s the ledge on the top right after you come in from the Marrow.
Spool Fragment #5 (Bellhart)
- How to Get It: You’ll find this one in the mid-level area of Bellhart. At the same level, you can get into Greymoor.
Spool Fragment #6 (Greymoor)
- How to Get It: Start from the entrance that leads you to the Far Fields, but instead of entering the drop, head right. There should be a large open area that lets you go up to reach the right-most entrance to Sinner’s Road. The Spool Fragment is on the opposite side of this.
Spool Fragment #7 (Blasted Steps)
- How to Get It: There are three entrances from the Blasted Steps going upwards to the Sands of Karak. The Spool of Fragment will be in the middle one. While going up, stick to the left wall and enter the opening on that side. Look for the item.
Spool Fragment #8 (Blasted Steps)
- How to Get It: You can easily find this Spool by heading towards the corridor connecting the Blasted Steps and the Grand Gate.
Spool Fragment #9 (Grand Gate)
- How to Get It: After you enter from the Blasted Steps, there is a large pillar in the middle of the large area. Climb the left side of it, and you’ll find the Spool Fragment at the top.
Spool Fragment #10 (Underworks)
- How to Get It: Enter the Underworks via the Wisp Thicket and look for the area that allows you to ascend. Stick to the right wall until you find an opening. Go through this passage until you find the Spool Fragment.
Spool Fragment #11 (Underworks)
- How to Get It: From the Cauldron subsection, head towards the right-most area of the Underwork. After you pass through the area connecting this Biome to the Whiteward, you’ll find a significant drop that leads you to another part of the map. Go through it, and you’ll find the Spool Fragment here.
Spool Fragment #12 (Whiteward)
- How to Get It: Traverse the lowest level of Whiteward, and you’ll find a small drop somewhere in the middle section of the Biome. Drop into it to collect the Spool Fragment.
Spool Fragment #13 (Mount Fay)
- How to Get It: The Spool Fragment is somewhere along the right-most wall of the area. There are four entrances connecting Mount Fay to the next Biome on the right. Enter via the second-to-lowest one to get to the area with the fragment, which would be somewhere in the middle of the region under The Slab.
Spool Fragment #14 (Cogwork Core)
- How to Get It: After you enter the Cogwork Core from the Choral Chambers, head to the lowest level or floor of the region and go to the right-most side. You’ll find the Spool Fragment here.
Spool Fragment #15 (Memorium)
- How to Get It: Go to the top-most corridor connecting Cogwork Core and Memorium. When you reach a passage that lets you go up or drop down, head up and then take the first left. The Spool Fragment should be somewhere on the left side of the wall in that chamber.
Spool Fragment #16 and #17 (Memorium)
- How to Get It: The two Spool Fragments are somewhere high up after you enter the Songclave subsection from the west side. They should be directly up of the first drop towards the Whispering Vaults in this section.
Spool Fragment #18 (High Halls)
- How to Get It: The last Spool Fragment will be at the very top of the highest peak of the area. You can find this spire by entering the High Halls from the right via the corridor connecting it to the Choral Chambers.
Once you’ve collected all these Spool Fragments, you will get the Extended achievements and maximize Hornet’s Silk meter.
