Boss Name |
Chapter |
How to Beat |
|---|---|---|
|
DDO Commander |
01: Bloodsoaked Tokyo |
This boss fight is where you learn Hōgeki Counter (Bloodraven Block). When the DDO Commander glows red for a power attack, counter it with a Bloodraven strike to stun him. Try to avoid his sword and lightning attacks. Use Perfect Dodges to gain a brief slow-motion window to deal a quick combo before backing off. |
|
DDO Proto-Goliath |
02: Haunted District |
Focus on destroying the flying drones with the Caddis Wire to stop the ranged attacks. When the Goliath uses its massive hammer slam, immediately Perfect Dodge the hit and counter its arm. Use fast weapons like the Takeminakata to deal damage to his large health when he staggers. Avoid standing in the electrical pools he creates. |
|
Kitsune Courtesan |
03: Phantom Pleasure Quarter |
This boss fight has two phases where you learn about defense. In Phase 1, practice the Perfect Parry (or Fatal Flash) on her umbrella combos to break her defense. In Phase 2, her defense is tighter. Use a Yatousen Bloodraven attack to pierce her guard and create a long damage opening. |
|
Sanzeon |
05: Raging Valley |
In this boss fight, the key is to wait for its long-range attacks. When Sanzeon is charging a major energy attack and glows red, hit it with a Bloodraven strike to stun it and bring it crashing down. This gives you a window to use your most damaging combos. |
|
DDO Commander (Second Encounter) |
06: Guiding Winds |
This rematch is faster and includes more standard enemies. Focus on the Commander first, using the same Hōgeki strategy. Use AoE Ninpo to clear the supporting DDO soldiers when the boss is stunned. |
|
Kurobo |
07: Altar of the Mountain God |
Kurobo switches between Dog and Bird forms. Use Perfect Parry on the final hit of its leaping or wing-slam combo. In Bird Form, avoid its aerial charges and tornado-summoning by moving around the boss area and only attack when it lands after a recovery pause. The Magatsuhi works well in this boss fight. |
|
Sanzeon (Second Encounter) |
08: Shrine of Whispers |
Your second encounter with Sanzein will have heightened aggression and new AoE attacks. Follow the strategy from your first encounter, interrupt its red-glow energy attacks with a Bloodraven strike to force a lengthy stagger. Then use your most powerful combos. |
|
Veilotl |
09: Realm of Silent Dead |
Prioritize destroying the smaller tentacles. When the main body is visible, unload your strongest combos. Interrupt its massive AoE move that glows red with a Bloodraven attack to stagger it. |
|
Cetus |
10: Bounding Spirits |
Fighting Cetus requires constant movement. Dash to avoid its combos and projectiles. The only safe window for dealing damage is to strike its glowing mouth/face. Deal a lunging attack to stagger them momentarily. |
|
D-1018 Chariot |
11: Infiltration |
Constantly dodge the machine gun fire and missile attacks. Identify the main power core and use the Caddis Wire to move toward it for a short burst of damage, then immediately retreat to avoid counter-fire. |
|
Elevator Fight |
12: Elevated Destruction |
This is a wave-based endurance boss fight. Focus on clearing the high-priority enemies first to manage the numbers. Use Ultimate Techniques and Ninpo for large groups and utilize the elevator walls for evasive tactics. |
|
DDO Proto-Goliath (Second Encounter) |
12: Elevated Destruction |
This boss fight often occurs immediately after the Elevator Fight. The DDO Proto-Goliath is faster and has fewer openings. Follow the strategy from the first encounter, use Perfect Dodge on the hammer slams, and take advantage of the opening, while focusing on quickly destroying any drones it summons. |
|
Kagachi |
13: Dragon's Maw |
Master the Perfect Parry on his strikes to open him up. You must use the Yatousen Drill's Bloodraven transformation to pierce his high defense. Take advantage of the resulting staggers with a charged Ultimate Technique. |
|
Oniwaka |
14: Clash of Convictions |
In this Chapter, you play as Ryu Hayabusa. Be aggressive with the True Dragon Sword. Block his light attacks, and use the Izuna Drop or Art of the Inferno Ninpo when he is staggered. His red-glow attacks can be countered with Ryu’s Fatal Flash for an opening. |
|
Cetus (Second Encounter) |
15: Deep Sea Ascent |
This rematch requires you to attack the exposed mouth or core immediately after it finishes its two-hit melee combo or a lunging attack. Move around the area to avoid new homing projectiles and shark summons. Use AoE Ninpo to clear any summons. |
|
Kitsune Courtesan (Second Encounter) |
16: Phantom Rebirth |
She uses enhanced speed and blocking in her True Form. Use the Yatousen Bloodraven attack to pierce her improved guard for a stagger. The other main opening is interrupting her bullet-hell projectile volley with a timed Bloodraven strike. |
|
Kurobo (Second Encounter) |
17: Unholy Descent |
In this Chapter, you play as Ryu Hayabusa. He’s faster and more aggressive than he was in the previous fight. Use the True Dragon Sword’s Flying Swallow against his Bird Form and Perfect Parry his Dog Form's ground-based red attacks. Keep attacking to prevent him from transitioning between phases. |
|
Achilles |
18: Howling Ravine |
Your regular block is nearly useless. Use Perfect Parries and Perfect Dodges to create your attack windows. Use the Yatousen for its high single-target damage to get in and out quickly after a successful counter. |
|
Ryu Hayabusa |
19: Darkness Reborn |
Only attack after a successful Perfect Parry on the final hit of his combo, or immediately after he misses a highly telegraphed move. Be prepared to block or dodge his Flying Swallow and Ninjutsu. Prioritize survival over offense, and move around the area. Healing isn’t allowed. |
|
Dark Dragon |
19: Darkness Reborn |
The final boss is in two phases. Phase 1 is a classic "dodge the monster" arena battle. Focus on surviving the massive AoE attacks. In Phase 2 Phantom Form, use the Dark Dragon Blade's power to target the exposed core on its chest/head. |
