Gears of War E-Day returns to the opening days of the Locust War, along with new features like enhanced movement options, QoL controls, and the new PvE Siege mode. Player Level is the main account-wide progression, capping at 100 before a player gets to choose to Re-Up. Each Re-Up resets the displayed Player Level to 1 while preserving unlock history and adding prestige recognition. E-Day supports four Re-Ups, meaning dedicated players can level up to an effective cap of 500 levels worth of total progression when combining base and prestige cycles.

Re-Ups are the primary ways for players to unlock cosmetics, with new playable characters, weapon skins, and other items to display their prestige. Re-Up decisions are cosmetic and flex milestones, not power gates. Any cosmetics unlocked through standard leveling will be retained after a Prestige.
Horde and Siege mode have their own separate progression system with class upgrades, armor mods, and weapon mods to make future runs in Siege mode easier and more replayable. Specifically for weapons, players will need to gather Weapon Parts during Siege mode and extract successfully to purchase upgrades, though simply progressing through their Class Level will provide a few Weapon Parts.
